Why dark matter?

I've been watching this awesome show since Episode 1 , but I still don't understand the title. Why dark matter?

Dark Matter has a dual meaning.

First, it is a reference to dark matter in the universe.

Second, is is a play on grey matter in the brain gone dark as they have lost their memories.
