I'm with the OP. I love the characters on Dark Matter, they're its strength, but 4 could disappear without them even covering why he disappeared, and I wouldn't care. He's by far the least interesting member.
One, on the other hand, I really liked. Reading around here, it doesn't appear that many people liked him, but I thought he was the 'normal' guy, alongside 5, that we the audience can relate to. I also think his story was one of the most interesting and then they went nowhere with it. That's been my biggest complaint with season 2. They also spent too long in that damned prison. We'd only had a handful of episodes in season one to get used to these guys having adventures on the Raza, and suddenly we're stuck in a several-episode-long prison story.
My favourite characters go Android, Five, Three, Six and then Two. :)
I wonder if they decided it was too much a parallel to 4? The idea of being the "powerful one at the head of his corporation/people"? So one of them had to go.
You obviously haven't watched the last 3 episodes of Season 4.

I agree to a certain point. Why kill any of the regulars? Bad idea but especially don't kill One. Marc Bendavid as One was one of the best actors in the series and he had the most interesting backstory (with the death of his wife, and the taking over of his company). Killing One off was a huge mistake.
In Season 2 once the crew gets back on the ship, without One, the acting is worse and the plot lost a lot of its depth and direction. And it's too bad. I enjoyed Season 1 a lot. But with Season 2 so far, it looks like the show's in trouble.
