I, personally, feel sad that RDJ thinks his great acting went "unnoticed".
As far as I am concerned, I saw his great acting in those movies and for me it did NOT go unnoticed.

Maybe he means 'unrecognised' as far as awards go? I think his performances as Tony Stark are pretty universally hailed as one of the key and strongest elements of the MCU.
