The Hulk *spoilers*

The Russo brothers managed to make one of the most iconic character in comic book history into a joke , they always say that they are comic book readers but i guess they never gave a shit about him , in Infinity War he had literally a couple of minutes screentime , in this movie they made him look and sound like a clown , waste of a great character , a shame.

Marvel doesn’t wholly own the film rights to the Hulk.

Thus, he’s a punching bag / laughing stock because he has no solo movie potential.

reply

Oh yeah ? Then why he was done properly in The Avengers , Age Of Ultron and Thor Ragnarok?

reply

Oh yeahhhhhhh

Mooning over the Black Widow and getting slapped around by Iron Man and Thor is “done properly”?

LOL

reply

Do you realize that Universal made The Incredible Hulk 11 years ago? I they don' t do any other movie within 7 years the rights revert to Marvel.

reply

And there was also Ang Lee's Hulk, a movie so fucking terrible it set back superhero movies for many years.

reply

Universal initially had the film production rights on the Hulk, as they produced the 2003 Hulk film. The film production rights eventually reverted to Marvel, who produced 2008's Incredible Hulk.

Universal, though, continued to distribute the film under a deal where Universal would get the first chance to distribute any future Hulk movies.

Disney wants the distribution rights back, but the deal with Universal is an open-ended, PERPETUAL one and they don’t want to sell them.

Did you realize that????

LOL

reply

No , it's not perpetual , if they don't make another movie after 7 years the rights revert , the same issue happened with F4 but Fox managed to start production on that crap movie few months before the 7 years expired.

reply

Oh, ouch, I feel embarrassed for you:

"The Russo brothers... always say that they are comic book readers but i guess they never gave a shit about him"

And I guess you're not much of a comic book reader either, otherwise you'd have heard of Professor Hulk.

I don't read comics much anymore but even I know that this version of Hulk is popular, well-known, and existed for at least a few years in the comics.

reply

If YOU actually knew the comics, YOU would know of the Professor Hulk character, the one in the comics, the one you apparently dont know about but thankfully the Russo Brothers do.

reply

Remember too this isn't just the Russos

Because of Universal's rights (and poor box office performance), there was never going to be a Hulk movie. So Ruffalo (claims that he) sat down with Feige and worked out everything they'd like to see in a trilogy of Hulk movies and worked those ideas into Ragnarok and these last two Avengers movies.

I'll admit it was jarring, but it felt very Ruffalo. I'm still not convinced that it felt very "Banner" though.

reply

Universal are so annoying. The character has become so popular since the first Avengers film that a solo movie with Ruffalo’s Hulk would do so much better at the box office than The Incredible Hulk.

Could have The Leader as the villain and it would be interesting now that he’s Professor Hulk.

reply

I know very well who Prof Hulk is and i never liked his arc in the comics , i actually wanted a mindless , bloodthirsty , pissed Hulk go toe to toe against Thanos but instead the Russos , writers , Marvel or whoever it was decided to make him act like a pussy in this movie.
There would have been other chances to introduce Prof Hulk in future movies but with this they wasted a chance and now we'll never see this happen since Thanos is gone for good , pathetic.

reply

Great as far as i'm concerned.

Hulk as a mindless simpleton is ok for one or two movies, but it gets old quickly, hence why it changed in the comics.

And yes Thanos is gone for good... good. There has to be repercussions for characters, it can't be like the comics where they manufacture some bullshit escape clause to bring them back.

Onwards and upwards, certainly not "pathetic", your hyperbole is excessive.

reply

You sound dumb.

reply

I wish they did more with Professor Hulk too. It's my only gripe. Outside of snapping everyone back, he didn't get to do much.

reply

They wasted him and Thor, turning him into comedy relief! While Captain Marvel (roll eyes) stood up to the bad guy and manhandled him around.

I was hoping there would be a redeeming scene of him smashing Thanos one on one when Thanos was fighting Cap, IM and Thor, but no, it was mostly him being a big goofball in most of his scenes. Talk about emasculating a character.

And Thor too is being treated like a joke in this movie and Ragnarok, crying, screaming like a little girl when Stan Lee cuts his hair...like WTF!

I think Pepper Potts in the the iron suit was more macho and badass than Hulk in this movie and in IW. Fuck Disney seriously :(

reply

Hulk wuz alredy a puddy in Infinity War so nothin new

reply

Yeah , go tell the Russos!

reply

I can only imagine how THRILLED some of those who found Hulk in Thor:Ragnarok to be insulting felt by seeing Professor Hulk. :D

Now other than Hulk not getting the chance to be more destructive in Endgame (e.g. get Hulk Vs. Thanos round 2), I got zero complaints. Damn, it was great to see Professor Hulk! And yes, I thought he played a good role in Endgame overall.

But this thread, man. From the more-knowledgeable-about-the-comics-than-the-fake-fan-filmmakers critics to the blame Disney special people.... Smh. I guess none of this compares to the silliness going on in other threads, though.

reply

I'm only saying Endgame wasn't the right movie to introduce Professor Hulk , in IW it wasn't even a match , he was overwhelmed by Thanos and knocked out in about 30 seconds , well it's a shame we won't have a chance to see that anymore
