Captain Manhater
So where does the leftist propaganda take the MCU now? Openly celebrating communisim? Celebrating dwindling white birth rates around the world? Just more hating white men?

shareI watched this movie and saw none of that. Not sure what you're talking about.
shareOF COURSE YOU DON'T SEE IT. Of course you don't see how all of the jerks in her life throughout the movie were white men. And of course you're a leftist.
shareIf only the MCU could offer us a white male hero. Aside from Iron Man of course. And Thor. And Captain America. And Ant-Man. And Spider-Man. And Hulk. And Dr. Strange. And Star Lord. And Hawkeye. Yeah the MCU is just soooo anti-white male. Lol honestly threads like this are laughable.
shareI never said there was a problem with a female superhero. You're creating a false argument.
shareI never said you said there was a problem with a female superhero. What your posts imply is that the MCU paints white males in a bad light and I was pointing out that the majority of prominent good guys in the MCU are in fact white males.
shareMy posts don't "imply" anything. You are trying to twist my words to fit something that works in your brain. I said this movie is an intentional attack on white men.

You make a stupid post and them claim not to !?! WTF?
shareTechnically, The Hulk is a green male hero.
shareWhat jerks? Give or take her father, who she still loved, the only white male jerk in the film was Jude Law, and she even allowed his character to live.
In fact the one character that she seemed to have the biggest beef with was played by an Anglo-Chinese actress, Gemma Chan.
Go back and watch the movie and all the flashbacks of the jerks. All white guys. Done intentionally.
shareShe was a straight (I believe) white woman. It stands to reason that many of the jerks in her life would have been white men. That doesn't mean all white men are jerks. Just that it stands to reason that she'd have encountered a few.
shareThis is not rocket science. The theme of the movie was a woman overcoming the men "holding her back" in her life. All of the flashbacks were of white men telling her she "couldn't go fast", she "shouldn't be out here", "she's not strong enough", etc. At this point I can't tell if you're actually this blind or being intentionally playing to be inept. Captain Marvel is a feminist movie played by an actual feminist who has come under fire for several remarks she has made against men in general as well as specific attacks on "white dudes".
shareWell speaking as a genetically enhanced chimpanzee who has learned to unlock my cage and access the project supervisor’s computer after hours, maybe she is on to something. All the white male overseers are always zapping me with cattle prods without provocation and touching me in areas that make me uncomfortable just to earn my reward of beetle grubs. So I...shhh! Someone’s coming! Oh no. OOOHAHHHHHHH OOHHAAAAAAAAHHHH EEEEEEEE EEEEEE EEEEEE!
shareThe op's argument isn't dumb it is his opinion. He has seen something in the film following a particular modern day agenda. Now if that be true or false is irrelevant his opinion still stands the same as yours.
Personally the film is full of agenda but im not gonna bother as i will just get called sexist or an incel or afraid of woman or some other popular internet insult.
By resorting to name calling you bring nothing to the discussion, why not try and debunk his arguments. But obviouly that won't happen as it is easier to just laugh and call people names is usually what happens when you say anything negative towards a woman, POC or any other minority or victim class.
No one has done any form of counter argument. Just eep throwing the insults thats easier.
Name-calling? What 'name-calling'?
The only name-calling I've seen is 'Captain Manhater'.
Calling an argument 'dumb' is not the same as calling a person 'dumb', ergo, it's not 'name-calling'.
His argument isn't dumb it is his opinion, an opinion is never dumb no matter if you agree or not, just like i could say your opinon is dumb because you do not agree with him, it bring's nothing to the table.
The name calling is just a general throw out comment becuase that is normally how these discussions go.
For example you don't like said female lead and so are instantly called sexist, you don't like a back lead and you are instanty called racist. It is just the way internet forums go, instead of bringing arguments everyone just brings insults.
Captain Marvel could be described as a paint by numbers superhero movie with a typical 3rd act ending, nothing special just average which is what it is.
It could also be described as the media would like you to see as some kind of groundbreaking movie and that anyone who disagrees with that statement is a woman hating troll, which is what happened.
It could also be described as the OP suggested as a straight up feminist/agenda driven movie to bash men to pick up woman, which has many scenes to support that.
There are arguments for all 3, that is why it is an opinon based on how you perceive what your viewing.
But what usualy happens is that nearly everyone just calls them names and insults, same as the DC/Marvel arguement.
So again his argument isn't dumb it is his opinion.
Persoannly i don't care, i just don't like people being labelled something just for having an opinion that the perceived majority don't agree with.
why not try and debunk his arguments
Not sure which 'men' Captain Marvel is hating on. Technically Carol has a problem with one white man, her dad. A character with daddy issues is hardly hating white men. Law's character isn't even technically human, so I wouldn't count him.
She has problems with men in the vague sense because she's involved in fields thought of as typically masculine, which seems accurate given the reports of how women are treated in the military - and the thing is, she doesn't have a problem with them, they don't like her. Also not sure if these men are white or otherwise.
Your entire rambling just showed how this movie portrays men, particularly white men in a bad light.
sharePolitely, you're an idiot.
I'm pretty sure if there was a straw poll of fighter pilots in the US Air Force in the early 90's, the majority would be WHITE MEN. Thats not to say there were no black men in the Air Force, but the majority would be white men.
Lets also not pretend that the US Air Force and other air forces around the world were not predominantly made up of men period, the US Air Force didn't even allow female fighter pilots until 1993, and you seem to think that all the men would be cheering "well done, good job", shows just how much you have no clue about women entering mainly men dominated areas.
So if the movie shows white men or otherwise being hard on Carol Danvers and Monica Rambeau, its probably highly underplayed of the reality of how men in general would have fought tooth and nail to keep them out.
Your selective reading of history doesn't get to pretend that shit didn't happen, because it did.
Even in the enlightened UK, we didn't allow female fighter pilots until 1995.
Politely, you're a dishonest asshole.
You're excusing the demonization of white men in this movie because "hey there were some other good white men" and pretending this wasn't a feminist movie.
Youre still a moron, but still being polite about it.
The one thing youre forgetting is Captain Marvel is set in the 1990's, so of course the men are going to act more reflective of that time.
I could understand your point if it was supposed to be a commentary on men TODAY, but it wasnt.
Haven't you made your point enough times that we can be secure we understand your opinion? Give it a rest already. This whole thread is so pointless. The only reason I'm even here is this was the last / first thing on my computer this morning, and I'm amazed how everyone is going back and forth over such a dumb issue. I'm moving on to NHL hockey.
shareI wouldn't call it rambling. I feel I was pretty succinct. Also, I agree with you. I did demonstrate how men were portrayed. But I disagree that it was in a bad light. 95% of Danvers's allies are male - one of them is a white man. So not really sure where you're getting the'all white men are bad' portrayal from.
shareAll of her enemies are male. Specifically white males. I can't tell if you're just that dumb or refusing to see it.
shareYou seem a sensitive soul, and a bit of a dick.
Relax, it's just a movie, sit back and enjoy the ride.
Bzzzzt. The supreme intelligence was portrayed as a white woman. Who was, as it turns out, not only her biggest enemy, but the big bad in general.
Try harder.
Wow. You aren't a Manhater. You are simply a Hater. Explain that ! No room for strong women? No room for debate? I'm sorry I even responded to this sad thread. I'll be curious what others say.
