When will disney make a lesbian princess?
More girls are lesbian now days so the straight girl thing is outdated way much. They need to ne more progressive with they're are concepts.

shareNo they don't. But if people's sexual orientation is so important to you, you can think of Elsa as a lesbian.
shareShe's apparently going to be getting a male romantic counterpart in the sequel - which, in fairness, already sounds horrendous in its casting and snippets of revealed plot.
Catch me when you can, Mishter Lusk.
I would say it would probably be 15-20 years before Disney makes a lesbian princess. They aren't going to want to lose money, and right now there are still too many conservatives that oppose gay relationships. Once a lot of those older people start dying off and the younger, more accepting generation takes over Disney may start making a change.
shareEven as a lesbian myself, I would never say anything so silly like calling straight relationships outdated. If and when Disney should decide to do a lesbian princess, I just want them to do it right. I want the romantic aspect to be done well and I don't want any dodging. Steven Universe has proved you can do things respectfully and out in the open in family entertainment so there should be no excuses. Still, unless that whole "give Elsa a girlfriend" influences the film makers, I don't see this happening in the near future. Disney biggest concern wouldn't really be religious zealots in this country as much as it would be worrying about certain foreign markets that have openly expressed that they would turn down any film showcasing homosexuality in a positive light. Big foreign box office isn't the best reason to not do it, but I don't want them to do it just for brownie points sake either. I want a legitimate kind and caring lesbian princess in a film with a wonderful story, properly done romance, and of course great music. Until then, I'm not upset at not having a lesbian princess, I love the Disney princesses just the way they are!

^^^This is the only post here that is worth reading.
shareI don't think Disney is ready yet, but someday it will come. There was enough push back from conservatives on Paranorman and even from the subtle line Gobber gave (ad libbed by the actor) in How to Train Your Dragon 2.
Please check your facts before coming out with a statement such as "..the straight girl thing is outdated way much.". Being gay is not a "fashion" or a trend. Estimates of those in the population who are LGBTQ are 10%, but not more.
Is there a need to bring up sexuality in a children's film? I mean, look at When Marnie Was There. There are a lot of lesbian undertones, but it never feels like it is trying to please SJW, which is what you demand from Disney.
shareSexuality is already in children's films. It's not unreasonable to ask that some of the combinations be something other than male prince and female princess.
shareUm, you mean the same sexuality that most mammals practice in order to reproduce?? That common form of sexuality that kids will see their dogs perform?
Get off your soapbox while I play you a tune on the tiniest violin.
I would love if they did, however I agree with people who said foreign markets and conservatives might prevent it from happening for a while. It's easier for LGBT films to be made when they are smaller-budget dramas marketed to adults, they don't need huge foreign markets or mainstream success to recoup costs. I think we need to see more LGBT content marketed to adults and teenagers before people will accept something marketed to young kids, especially a big-budget disney film.
