For someone that likes a candidate who is blunt and direct about everything, you sure are being a sissy about this. Go ahead and boycott the movie, as well as every single movie made in Hollywood. I can guarantee you that there are at least a few liberals involved in the production of all Hollywood films.
That's pretty standard for a lot of Republicans/Trump followers. They love him because of how rude he is to people he doesn't agree with but the second someone doesn't give them the respect they feel they're owed (but have never earned) they throw a tantrum.

Really? Last time I checked, the ones throwing tantrums all over the country were Clinton supporters...

I call it nowhere near the level of the ridiculous rioters everywhere just because they didn't get their way. I absolutely despised the result of the last 2 elections, but I did not riot because of it.
I think you're misunderstanding the point of the riot. It's an objection to all the hate talk put out during the election. It's an objection to everything that flies in the face of what we've come to accept as American values - that all men are created equal. That all people deserve respect and certain basic unalienable rights.
There was hate talk from both sides, so you're saying that there would be riots if the election went the other way, too, right? And Donald Trump has not talked about invading anyone's unalienable rights. Who are you supposedly saying Trump is going to take rights away from? Because more blacks and latinos voted Trump than Romney, and less blacks and latinos voted Clinton than Obama...
"Hate talk" isn't just talk that is hateful, but talk that specifically spews hate at groups of people for no other reason than the group they belong to. It doesn't apply to political groups, but it does apply to differences due to ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and religion. There was hate talk against Muslims, for one. Suggesting that Mexico sent us their "rapists" and other criminals, not their best, was another example of hate talk. Mocking a man with disabilities is a form of "hate talk", even though talking wasn't really involved. The idea of a registry is frightening. Trump's statements about women and his behavior towards them is frightening and hateful. And while it hasn't been hateful, per se, Trumps actions and statements have been inconsistent towards the LGBTQ community. There is a real threat of many losses there. These are the things people are protesting along with boosting the interests of big business and the very wealthy over the concerns of the middle class, the poor, and the environment.
Also, your President (not mine) insulted too many people to recount. Remember him calling his opponents insults like "nasty woman", "lying Ted", "Pocahontas", "Little Marco"?
So it's okay for your President (not mine) to insult people but you want to boycott movies because one of the actors in Hamilton properly schooled Pence for his bigotry? Really?
Ah yes, apparently we are in the alternate universe where people politely requesting from the VPelect that he remember that his constituency now includes the entire United States, and thus people who are diverse, and that he is there to serve and protect them as well is 'rude' and 'disrespectful'. Have you actually read what was said?
The cast was very respectful as they gave voice to their concerns regarding Pence and the upcoming administrative team. Pence, who knows what is involved in being a leader, understood and was ok with it, even if he didn't agree with the statement. The one who had an issue was Trump.
Trump doesn't seem to understand a couple of things: 1- Concerns are not criticism. 2 - Getting feedback, whether it's negative or positive is part of the job he just accepted. 3- It's an American RIGHT to voice concerns and to criticize the government . 4 - All feedback is useful, even when it's negative or especially when it's negative. 5 - Leaders who attempt to curb free speech are not American. This is fascism 101. 5 - Presidents should NEVER get on Twitter with a tweet storm reacting to every little perceive insult. It makes those of us who are old enough to know how a president should act, very nervous about our future.
1. Lin Manuel was no where in the vicinity of the show when this all went down. There is a whole new cast in there now so any words exchanged do not even apply to him. Lin Manuel was working on songs for this or getting ready for the Mary Poppins sequel he is going to be in or something like that.
2. The message from the cast was actually one of love and respect for everyone and that leaders should take that into account. That message was very important because it was in fact the crowd who was very divided and shouting and making the scene in the first place and it had nothing to do with the cast.
3. Pence said he didn't even mind what happened.
That the show, Miranda, or this movie, should be dragged into this just makes no sense. Neither did anything wrong. Plus both are just great, wonderful works all should enjoy. I highly suggest you still see this.
Trying to create a channel based on interpreting, reviewing, and even giving you something to laugh about film. Hope you enjoy what you see. Thanks in advance.
^ Just for what it's worth, I believe I read somewhere that Lin did actually have some input into the speech even though he obviously wasn't actually there at the time :) In fact I'd be surprised if the current Hamilton NYC family hadn't consulted with Lin to some degree about it before making the speech, given that Lin is still pretty much (and will always be) the "big name" for the show and I doubt they would have done it without getting his blessing.
But yeah, there was absolutely nothing wrong whatsoever with anything they said! It was a beautiful, open, positive speech and they had every right to give it. There shouldn't be anything to debate about it.
Oh Bambi, I cried so hard when those hunters shot your mommy. - Kurt Hummel
..that speech was garbage as usual, from selfish clueless liberals.
..Lin is a clueless shallow liberal moron lol.. after the so called orlando shooting, he accepts an awards and tries to preach to us on national tv saying..."love is love is love, is love, is love, is love.." ..what an idiot lol..
...umm love is NOT "love"..and being gay is not healthy or normal, moron lol.. and Americans are sick and tired of the brain washing gay agenda, black agenda, illegal agenda.. enough is enough coward liberals !
