I'm not here to defend Google -- I have my own problems with them -- but can you understand the difference between a corporate policy and a rogue employee?
Anyway, a Google ranking is quite different from a TV show. The ranking is mysterious, but everything about the TV show is out there for all to see if they want. If you don't like a show just don't watch it. Why hate watch it and go online to bash it? It's not necessary to see some deep, dark conspiracy in it. Even if the network does want that they're not fooling anyone.
And if you don't like Google there are other search engines out there.
