I couldn't stand Steve/Jimmy from the very first moment he appeared. He's a conniving, sleazy creep. Fiona would have been well advised to choose Tony, the local cop, a solid, earnest, reliable guy. But obviously she's into dishonest, cheating bad boys.
Her poor taste in men was quite clear already in Season 1.
It was known even in the 1950's that he was gay, but as he was a major box office draw, the studio system protected his secret and forced him to get married. But the rumors persisted, his relationship with Jim Nabors was suspected for many years. This part of the film was not inaccurate.
Several guys in my class were more muscular than that as freshman.

I don't know if Skip was necessarily stronger, but his level of fury made him dangerous in a fight.
It was unclear whether Jonathan had reached the age of 18 (in the first semester of his senior year in HS, most likely 17). His ID indicated he was born I 1964, but I'm not sure in which year the action is meant to occur. If he was under 18, Skip's mom could have been criminally liable.
Jonathan also lied to her about his age, saying he was studying at college. That was why she broke it off.
Yeah, he can be a jerk, but he has many good qualities. Also he is one hell of a stud hero when things get tough!
