Real original, Illumination. you saw Disney making a movie about a bunch of animals, so you decided you needed to make your own. Oh good, and you found a way to shoehorn some radio hits in there. Little kiddies love those. Look at you, thinking outside the box. You wanna be Disney so bad? Try writing an actual story.

Sorta the same way Secret Life of Pets mirrored Toy Story. Except in both cases Disney has the upper hand and these guys are now really struggling to find something entertaining outside Despicable Me movies.
