Zootopia ripoff + American Idol + pop culture overload = GARBAGE

Seriously though, this looks like perhaps a new low for Illumination.

Looks like an excuse of a movie to have a playlist of current pop culture "hits". Blech!

reply

Seen it an hour ago. Thought it was good...Yeah, there was a few moments of LOL scenes but I absolutely riveted throughout the climax part. Just wow, it inspires me.

And I never knew that Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson and Taron Egerton can sing that way!

reply

It will probably appeal to teens. Stupid teens, anyway.

reply

Teens have different state of hormones that other categories.

That's why teenagers often have the best time of their life.

reply

We adults have all been teenagers, so the hormone thing is understood...but thanks for your insight, kid. I find it creepy to see animated animals twerking in a children's movie.

reply

Really? You never saw "Walk The Line"? Reese Witherspoon won an Oscar playing June Carter Cash and singing all of her songs. Scarlett Johansson released an album of Tom Waits covers in 2008. Taron Egerton clips are harder to track down, but he's never been shy about singing. There is a brief clip of him in 2015's "Lewis."

The More You Know... (sorry. I usually put a rainbow here.)

"Zootopia" was amazing, in that it incorporated a genuinely captivating mystery into a beautifully realised and rendered anthropomorphic world. Next, they must come up with genuinely animal-animals, but we would be lost.

reply

Sorry, from all the time that I have used, not a single moment did I spend to search for their singing talents.

reply

So now that I've seen it, the truth is that this movie is nowhere near as bad as you thought it would be. It's way way waaaaay worse.
It's absolute rock bottom garbage and I can't believe I took my kids to see it.

Well this film began with the script being written in Jan 2014 while Zootopia's script didn't start until Nov of 2014. So the OP is wrong. Also when you go back and check animals behaving as humans is hardly new. Even before Walt Disney started his company , the concept was being done.

Illumination can't make anything good. It would be like North Korea making a good movie.

reply

Nah. Minions was lower. Of course it wasn't as awesome as Zootopia, but it had a good story for kids, which I assume it's the target audience. Comparing it to Zootopia is unfair. That's like comparing Equestria Girls to Frozen.

reply

I loved both Zootopia and this movie. They were both fun to watch.

disappointed :(
Poor story-telling ... not much original in this movie. It's a mash-up of Pitch Perfect, American Idol, 9-11, The Titanic and a few pop tunes.

It would be great if people actually ignored trolls. Oh well. You succeeded in getting people to respond to your obvious troll post.
