I didn't expect a huge film, and it wasn't billed as such, but it was a lot of fun and entertaining more that I was probably expecting. Also, the relationship of Mike and Phoebe was well done by Jesse and Kristen.

Yeah when it started I was expecting some low budget stoner crap but it surprised me.

Exactly----considering that both Eisenberg and Stewart are big-name stars, I was kind of surprised that this film didn't get the big push it should have gotten,particularly after I saw it. I caught up with it on DVD after missing it in the theatre. It only got a limited release---I don't understand why, because it was a really fun, and funny action packed and slightly off-the-wall flick. And,yeah, it's pointless to slam a film for being a flop when it didn't even get promoted in the first place---why it got slept on the way it did is a mystery.
There is so much nonsense that goes on behind the scenes that often has zip to do with the making of or the quality of a film. For all we know the distribution deal got 86'd when someone on high lost a game of golf! Or the studio that made it had so many recent hits they needed a flop to have something to write off at tax time!
Problem is the stars take the fall. Though Eisenberg and Stewart seem to be just fine, some stars get sunk by bad box office. Even one misstep has been known to radically affect an actors future roles.

i just watched the movie and i actually really liked it too. i'm not really a fan of Jesse's but i thought both he and Kristen were really good in this. i'm also a big fan of Connie Britton's so it was a surprise (i had no idea she was in this!) and a treat to see her in it.

You always see comments like this on boards when they first come out. There are even sites that make comments look like they are real Facebook comments that are all positive but they can't be replied to, the people commenting when you try to find them on Facebook are fake and do not exist and you start seeing the same people comment on other movies with the exact same comments copied and pasted.
There is another on this movies board doing the exact same but for a pirate website where they make money off the adverts http://www.imdb.com/user/ur62539460/
Just look at that profile and all the comments, they are all the same leading back to the same web site.
It's obvious fake crap to hype the movie by people paid to do so or you get bots that can take over your account and make comments as if it was really you making the comment and you don't even know it happened, they have been doing it for years. They even have them go make realistic comments on other boards so if you look at their profile they seem real. I am pretty sure most of you will have seen things happen on social media sites where the same comment is repeated by numerous people, especially on Facebook where they say crap like you have won something and they leave a link and it always comes from a real friend, well those are bots using their account so you think it's real when the link is fake and usually malware of some sort or something not good anyway.
IMDB is not the first or last place you will see this kind of rubbish, people on youtube get paid to do it too.
They can even use old accounts that don't get used any more also. I had 2 facebook accounts and when i went to close the 2nd one i had comments all over the place about apps, movies, pages etc all saying how great they were etc and i had never heard of half of them.
I deleted the account but i had something like 300+ liked pages, well only about 3 or 4 of them were pages i personally liked when using the account so it goes to show they can abuse your accounts to boost things easily.

Exactly what I thought. To anyone with even a modicum of intelligence this movie was just plain dreadful. To try and beat it up here in the way the above posters have is rather pathetic actually.
