Is this movie overhyped or is it really that good ??
Everyone praising it and shit
shareIt's really that good.
shareI have no idea what the hype says. I liked it a lot. It's the Wolverine movie we should have gotten from the beginning.
shareIts really that good.
shareIt was racist.
shareIt's very good. I would say it's a superhero movie for people who don't like superhero movies. If you want something "very comic book," stick to Marvel Studios films. Logan was more realistic. I don't think there was cursing just for cursing's sake or to be edgy. It was cursing like how real people curse in real life. There were only a couple of goofs in the whole movie that might've taken you out of the moment if you were really paying attention /see those types of things. You can definitely enjoy this film without having seen any previous X-Men film with only shallow knowledge of X-Men in general. Overall, my initial impression was 10/10, rethinking what I saw was 9/10, and with the test of time I think it's a solid 7.5-8.
shareI liked it a lot actually. It wasn't overhyped for me.
shareIt lives up to the hype.
shareIt's a cheap movie that disguises itself with grittiness and pseudo-depth. Nothing wrong with enjoying that (I couldn't), but it's definitely overhyped.
it was too much
shareIf it just showed itself as it really is - an action movie with a guy who has metal in his hands, it'd be the next John Wick, or could even elevate itself to Mad Max Fury Road terrain if approached right.
Instead all the writers and the director circle jerked each other thinking they were making a socially relevant, genre-bending, deep character movie - when it's thinly derivative of Children of Men and The Road. The plot/exposition is handled terribly - we are literally told of the backstory through a cell phone recording.
Still it had an effect on the average movie idiot... it was better than the DC superhero movies, at least it's got that going.
