“Extremely poor taste to release this movie in the times we live in!”
Of course you’re going to see movies based on current events and issues that deeply concern many people. It’s now the end of August and I finally got to watch this movie that’s was just recently released on home video, but since the initial post on this thread in February, a lot of high-profile terrorist incidents has happened in the US and EU cities; Brussels, Istanbul, Orlando, Nice, etc., etc., etc. The audiences who'd watch this movie live in cities like those and that includes me.
It’s important for people to identify with the frustration and helplessness portrayed in this movie, but more so to find relief in winning over the terrorists, which unfortunately doesn’t happen all the time in real life.
More importantly, though, it allows people to reflect on the efforts of their governments in regard to terror, since they have a voice through their votes and elected officials on administering measures for keeping their cities safe. This is not a partisan issue, since in the US the candidates for both major parties have these concerns high up in their campaign priorities, just as domestic security became an issue in the recent Brexit vote that had both sides present their solutions for solving this one aspect of the issue.
