Loads of undeserved one star ratings - because it shows the ugly reality.

OK, so this was no Die Hard but it's a decent action flick which has its moments. The production value is high, especially in the first half - it's shot on a grand scale and has a decent touch of realism towards the beginning. After that it's a slightly over-the-top action flick, so criticism about that would be valid.

But all the one star reviews are completely unfair. The movie deals with terrorists belonging to a certain religion (I won't say which so as to not trigger anyone, just pick the first random religion that comes to YOUR mind when you think of terrorists... ) - and the hero is an alpha male who gives no *beep* about calling a guy called Kamran, Cameron. It's kinda funny actually, the lack of PC. I loved it... Very refreshing.
And that explains the scores of people going into a tizzy and giving it a one star rating. Watch it, but don't take any delicate souls along coz they may not appreciate it as much. Cheers!

Yeah i really liked it. Gerald butler: great! Arron ekhart: great! the action was good and so was the tension. people who say this is one of the worst movies of the decade, clearly don't watch many movies!

well, i' currently about halfway through the film and I can't help wondering - where is the british army? we do stil have one here, you know. i mean, tanks and that. So why don't they do somerhing about the terrorists? and, you know, we have an airforce as well. why is the President of the USA the only person who can save London? Are we really supposed to be that useless here.

Remember it was said,"So you don't know who the good guys are and who the bad guys are."

I agree entirely - thanks Gerard for agreeing to make a movie which makes your nation look like they can't find their arse with both hands.

I've viewed worse. A 'B' flick. Until the car, motor bike chase, it was dragging. That was fun. "F me? No, F you"... slams into the column.
The Terrorists really lit up old London Town. Script, for the most part left something to be desired, but there were chuckle moments, and urging the good guys on moments.

Who is this Gerald Butler you guys keep referring to?

I suspect that you are correct. The story is based on the uncomfortable idea of infiltration of the British police and security system by Jihadists and this is almost certainly a reality, at least to some extent. The same attitudes that resulted in Major Nidal Hasan's idiotic elevation through the ranks of the American army are at work everywhere in the west.

reply

Would rather you wouldn't use a second rate movie as a platform to spread your paranoid views - there is no Jihadist infiltration. Try and spread a little love, dump the hate.

The film isn't "artwank" as one of my friends put it so those of a less action persuasion do not enjoy film liek this and then slate them.

Yes it shows raw terrorism but that is the state of the world as it is.
Plus it is an action romp...what were you expecting..mid-way through a gunfight for butler to drop his gun and quote hamlet whilst eckhart dances the bolero??
