What was the big wooden plane replica on the runway for?

I'm assuming this is a typical military thing? Why was there a big wooden plane in the way for them to blow up?

They were trying to fake that it was a USA Military Air Craft Carrier (SMH) so that when it nuked, it would start a war making dumbass people rich.

The russians used painted tree trunks to fool US sattelites into thinking they had more missiles than they actually had. It worked.
