As in that we will look back at this movie as a standout decades from now like we do other classics?

Nope. It has great idea, but it gets old by the middle of it due lack of development and the scene at the swimming pool was really stupid. And it does not push its R rating too far.
In its current form it would stand better as a Twilight Zone episode. It is a momentary "wow" movie and I liked it. 7/10
Depends what you mean by other classics? It's a good modern horror movie, but it's not groundbreaking or influential, and didn't make much of a splash on the overall horror scene when it came out. The average person probably wouldn't have even heard of it.
When you talk about the real classics of the horror genre such as Psycho, Alien, Jaws, The Thing, The Exorcist, The Shining, this will not become a new addition. Not trying to disrespect it because I like it. I feel that same way about any good horror movie past the 90's. They just won't be able to touch the classics from the past.
This is just a rip off of Ringu/The Ring. Same basic idea, people are infected by a curse, but instead of via a videotape it’s passed through sex. Then the only way to get rid of the curse is to pass it on to someone else.

The way the story handles time periods and their anachronistic artifacts was very inventive and innovative IMO.
And that soundtrack is perfect !
