I just saw this on YouTube and came here to post it but you beat me to it!

The trailer doesn’t really give an indication whether the film itself is any good but I’m so pleased for Pamela to see her performance being praised so highly. I’ve always had a lot of time for her, always thought she was unfairly stereotyped and misunderstood. To see her being taken seriously for once really warms my heart. I mean, who doesn’t love seeing the underdog silence their critics?

If her name is read among next year’s Oscar nominees I think I’d lose it. I know it’s unlikely and perhaps a bridge too far for the “serious” members of the Academy, but boy it would be a beautiful late chapter in her fascinating life story.

So it looks like there is talk of an Oscar nomination..

I guess stranger things have happened. If someone had said a few years ago that Shortround from Indiana Jones would win an Oscar it would have seemed just as unlikely.

Go Pam!! ❤️❤️❤️

reply

That would be insane! But good luck to her!

Didn't she appear on stage in something relatively recently and get highly praised for it? Good for her!

reply

Yeah she played Roxy in Chicago and you’re right, the reviews were good.

I’ve never seen her applauded for a film role though, I’m pretty sure this is a first.

reply

I applauded her for Barb Wire if that counts! (not for her acting though)

reply

Haha, fair enough!

Barb Wire is firmly in the “so bad it’s good” lane for me, love it!
