And yet we still got a bit of it in the 2013 TV pilot. So it can't be he got rid of after the first BHC.

reply

Yeah that's about the only iconic Murphy thing we didn't get in this one.

reply

I picked up on that. I was thinking where is the laugh.

He could have bust one out when he jumped in the back of the stakeout car at the end.

reply

Good. It would have felt forced and cringey.

Tbh no Eddie laugh in BHC be like having no 'im too old for this $hit' in LW or no "Yippee Kay Yay MF" in DH

"I'm always telling writers, when you write something, give me something that's solid, a solid story and I'll do comedy. I'll make it funny. The original Beverly Hills Cop script was not written funny, it was a Sylvester Stallone action movie,' Murphy said.

Well - he blew it. Seems like he was waaay too self-conscious. Forcefully stopped his natural laugh - and then killed his funny bone. The transformation he's gone through is remarkable, but he shouldn't be doing comedy after the said transformation.

That pilot is too woke. It's like watching Murphy do Family Matters.

reply

He grew up too much. I remember him saying something in regards to BH3 that Foley was still acting like a young man, he wanted too Axel grow up more. No one wants to see a grown up Axel!
