Christopher is the worst actor
I have no idea why they cast him. He's too old and too untalented to play against Cathy.

shareI thought he was good. It was Cathy that disappointed me.
shareI don't think the acting was particularly bad. There are people that really behave like the characters in this movie, so it was for me believable.

He acted circles around everyone around him (Burstyn notwithstanding). He was not "too old" as well (the actor in the '87 version was).
shareHe was fine; and he wasn't too old to play Christopher. He really looks the part as well. anyway he wasn't given too much of an opportunity to show his acting chops; Cathy was given most of the dramatic lines, while christopher was just expected to look strong and silent. I loved the scene where he goes down on his knees and sarcastically begs the Grandmother for forgiveness! It is a powerful scene, played well.

I agree. That scene was really good. I think these actors were a lot better than the ones in the 87 version.
Also like some people said he acted in the way I imagined Chris would act when I read the book.
I'm actually surprised to see people criticizing the acting; i thought the performances were good all around, escpecially for a production like this. This movie is worlds better than that 1987 version..

Christ was the BEST character in the whole movie! Once he got his emotions going (when he yelled at Corrinne), he stood out from the rest.
