Does anyone like Pearl?

I'm just curious a lot of the fandom seems to be divided on their opinions of her. I think she may be my favorite character she's very flawed and interesting, ironically the most human of the gems.

Honestly I thought everyone liked pearl. At least everybody over at paheal does. I started watching because of her.

Pearl is my favorite character after Peridot and Greg, I find her to be very relatable, and by far the most complex character in the show.

I like Pearl, she´s the least perfect and flawed yeah but that made her relatable, because no one is fully nice as a person, we´ve all have been mean to people in certain moments, some less than others but we all did.

i actually like all the main chatacters in the show (with main characters i mean protagonists, antagonists and secondary characters that play big parts in the story).

She fiercely protects sSteven - going as far as watching him in his sleep. Waiting. Because eventually Steven will grow old and die, and when that happens, Rose will come back.

Consider that, and then carefully consider everything she does in the show. When she see's Stevonnie she tells them to unfuse immediately - because if Steven falls in love with Connie, and has a child, the child will need a gem... and she'll have to wait another lifetime. She trains Connie to be a child-soldier, even to death, not only because it's her personal dogma - but because if Connie dies in Steven's defense, Rose will be back sooner.

This. Pearl isn't here for Earth or the humans, she's here waiting for Rose Quartz. The minute Rose returns, I'd bet Pearl will do everything in her power to get them back to Homeworld. Even if she has to secretly sow the seeds of a human revolt against the Gems to run them off Earth. We know how underhanded she can be.

I'm kinda hoping she leaves one way or another so Peridot can take her place in the theme song.

I honestly didn't expect Greg to be on anyone's list...

He's a dirty hobo that lives in a van. ;)

I love Pearl. I love all the Gems. They're all different and very real as characters with varied feelings and experiences.

The question sould be: how can anyone not like Pearl? She's by far one of the most complex, flawed and interesting characters on the show! I was about to give up on the series, when "Rose Scabbard" came around... Quick, think of the most mature themes and conflicts Steven Universe has tackled on... isn't Pearl always at it's center? In a series chock full of goody two shoes, comic reliefs and "cool" characters, Pearl constantly comes across as the most "human" because the writers aren't afraid to throw at her the difficult and not always "nice" storylines.

And I have to disagree with the assertion she would gladly go back to the homeworld; se might have joined the revolution because of Rose and yearns for the stars, but she likes the gem she has become.

Pearl is like, literally the best and greatest character and my favorite and the greatest and she's like so awesome and the leader and the awesomester and bester and is great.

She has a good character design, a solid backstory, has the best songs, excellent voice acting and overall is the most interesting, as you said human and greatest.

And like the Dewey guy said: She's the hot one

I have no idea how someone could remotely dislike Pearl when episodes that heavily feature Pearl are so often among the best the series has to offer.

Mr. Greg
Rose's Scabbard
Sworn to the Sword
Last One Out of Beach City
We Need to Talk
Cry for Help
Gem Hunt

Come on. She's awesome.

I love Pearl. So far she has had the most complex and realistic arc of all the gems. Plus, I've always had a soft spot for uptight and nerdy characters.
