Great survival movie. Any others?

My favorite type of movies are survival movies, sometimes with limited characters.
This movie was very well made.
Any other movies you guys could recommend like this?
What is the best bear horror movie?

7.5/10

Check out The Edge. Awesome survival movie.

Also, check out the new one, Into The Grizzly Maze.

Yeah, I think I'm like you and like the same type of movie. This was a decent movie- best bear movie is probably The Edge which has been recommended. But if you really like this stuff like I do, there are two must-see documentaries- they are
Grizzly Man
Night of the Grizzlies

And even though they are documentaries, they are just as horror filled because they are true. People have already recommended the best of this type-
Excellent crocodile movies
Black Water
Rogue

Excellent Shark movies
Open Water
The Reef

Tiger Movies
Burning Bright
Savage Harvest
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083034/?ref_=fn_tt_tt_41
Life of Pie

Ocean Survival
Titanic (Obviously)
Against the Sun
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2557276/?ref_=nv_sr_1
Two great movies about the sinking of The William Brown
Abandon Ship!
The Last Survivors
(you can watch this on youtube)

Survival
ALIVE

I personally did not really like "The Ghost and the Darkness" or "Unbroken"- a rather well-known Tiger movie and Ocean survival movie. There is a kinda cheesy TV movie on the Indianapolis you can watch on youtube
Mission of the Shark
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxWjsoN9FnI

And one of the best of course is Lifeboat by Alfred Hitchcock

Hope any of this helps

Thank you guys for all of your recommendations.

I have seen many of the listed movies in the thread, and am pleased.

I guess ill make a list of which ones i liked and recommend later on when I have a chance

Im surprised no one has mentioned "Gravity" as one of the best survival movies out there.

How many fu_ckin' people have mentioned The Edge? Is reading really in such a dilapidated state, or does paralyzing isolation creep in if you don't cast your vote with the others?

I bet if you did a shot for every Edge shout-out you wouldn't make it halfway through the thread.

Night of the Grizzly (l966) is still the best, even with poor bear effects. The Edge (I'm doing this just to bug SeanJo) had the best bear attack I've seen.

I`ve seen some poor crap posted here (sorry but many of them aren`t really even a survival movies. But heres some good real/realistic survival movies i think you would like if you aren`t already seen them:

-Swiss Family Robinson (1960)
-Robinson crusoe (1997)
-Hell in the Pacific (1968)
-Lord of the Flies (1990)":D"
-The Last Flight of Noah's Ark (1980)
-The Admirable Crichton (1957)

^ They`re all deserted island movies

Other mentions:

-The Snow Walker (2003) (arctic tundra)
-The naked pray (1966) (jungle)

Good call on The Naked Prey, an under the radar classic!

Into the Grizzly Maze is just like this movie, but TO THE X-TREME! It's awesome like in a good kind of corny 90's movie way.

I also recently watched Frozen and The Ruins, which have a similar vibe (the Ruins takes a little more suspension of belief outside of reality). If you don't mind even more gore, the Green Inferno is the most frightening real world survival movie I've seen. There's a lot of good older ones but those are fun recent ones.

reply

into the grizzly maze gave me a headache
seriously
with so much wasted talent
i was dissapointed.

I saw green inferno, but if the director tried to live it up to Holocaust cannibal, he clearly failed.

reply

I guess is those were too over the top for you then Frozen was probably my best recommendation. You might think The Ruins is too silly.

reply

frozen was fantastic
havent seen the ruins tho.

A couple other movies that you should check out that haven't been mentioned yet are:
-Thirst (group of people stranded in the desert)
-Scenic Route (two guys stranded in the desert)
-247°F (group of people locked in a sauna)

Welcome to Fright Night....for real. 
