I just watched this and it reminded me a lot of Eden Lake, if the bear was a group of psychotic teenagers and got off on its sadistic tendencies. Though who knows, maybe the bear was a sadist. I'd buy it. Others in the genre of people vs animals and/or mother nature that I've enjoyed include:
Rogue
Prey (not the best movie but a fun watch all the same)
The Canyon
The Descent - if you like a much more horror-oriented story with a claustrophobic bent, this is a goodun'
Primeval
The Ghost and the Darkness
Lake Placid
Anaconda
Bait
The Reef
Open Water - essentially the same movie but with two people in the water battling sharks instead of in the woods battling Mr. Sado Bear
Frozen (2010)
Wind Chill
Non-animal films in the survival genre that pit people against other people in a survival scenario:
Eden Lake (just had to mention it one more time)
Preservation
Wolf Creek
The Mooring
High Tension - this one might be a stretch and it's pretty violent and gory so if you're bothered by over the top hacking and slashing, skip this one
Black Rock - though be warned, that movie kinda sucks. Like, a lot. But it definitely has that survival theme and the people on people predatory violence going for it. And boobs!
And the pièce de résistance in the people surviving other people with an added bonus of cruel, cruel nature category, Deliverance.
