If you are looking for CGI infected, brainless fun, go see Transformers. But if you want to see a thinking person's sci-fi film, this one's for you. Sure, reviewers can take pot shots at this or that alleged failing. So what? Every movie has its detractors and yes, even, its flaws. Be your own thinker. See this movie and decide for yourself.

I liked the movie but that doesn't mean that I am going to deny the fact that it was illogical.
It was visually appealing, atmospheric, amusing but it doesn't make any sense and unfortunately this seems to be a trend with many movies that do excel on all fronts but the story which is the core element of any great movie.
I rated The Signal (2014) at 7 even though I feel it deserves no more than a 6 but I have a passion for smaller movies with lower budgets specially when they do entertain me way more than a 100 mil block buster which The Signal (2014) did regardless of its flaws.

Nah, it's not very good. I give it a 6/10, not a waste of time, but not worth seeing again.
It's well done production wise, acted, filmed, etc. But there are lots of problems in the story that "a thinking person" should question.
I'll check it out. I've seen lesser known, lower budget Sci-Fi films that were engrossing. "Primer" readily comes to mind. I also like Lawrence Fishburne, who I understand has a lead role in "The Signal."

it is indeed a very good sci-fi film, in my opinion, in both delivery and even more important, conception.
maybe it wasn't your cup of tea, due to its ambiguities - the way i look at it is, the farther out we go, presuming there is something left to be paying attention, the stranger it might appear to our eyes in our context.
i imagine life in a few millenia will be very different than it is now. just a guess.
some are challenged, some are confused, some are put off by this film. that tells me they struck a chord. not everyone responded to the signal, either. :)
