Dreadful film - little more than a Jon Favreau wet dream

Honestly: what a crock of *beep* Ripping off the popularity of TV cooking shows / chefs and then asking the audience to believe that this charmless, self-centered, slobbish, oaf of a deadbeat dad is irresistible to 2 women at least 20 years younger and 2000 times hotter than him. I know many women aren't as focused on looks as men are (sweeping generalisation I know!), but this guy had all the charisma of a tennis racket and less than a quarter of the sex appeal.

A totally unbelievable film featuring an unlikeable lead character who treated his son, his colleagues and his 'squeezes' as bit-part players in his story. One of the worst films I've seen in quite a while.

I couldn't agree more. I turned this movie off when I was a little over an hour in, Jon Favreau's character had NO redeeming qualities (unless, of course, things got better nearer the end, but your review makes me think that it didn't).

Like, a main character should be at least the tiniest bit interesting or likeable, that's sort of how things work.

There's nothing the least bit funny about stealing a meal from Neal McBeal the Navy SEAL.

Wonderful, making a comment about a movie when you only saw half of it. If you had watched the movie, you would understand that is the build up to see him turning his life around, and figuring out that he was a person with no redeeming qualities.

I guess neither of you two have Charm or Game so to say... Just stuck in the mindset that pretty people only like each other.... Terrible. I know overweight kids with not great looks who pull dime pieces. I know bald guys getting girls with bodies of goddesses... Get out much??

do you lol

Pretty much summarized my thoughts, it felt like this guy transferred his off-screen hobby (cooking) forcefully on-screen. Sloppy script filled with overcooked cliches and multiple layers of cheese that was dragged and stretched into frustration (i.e. remember the Miami cop scene that asks for permit for his food truck with the selfies paranoia that ensued). Undoubtedly my worst watch of 2015 so far.

Welcome to reality, there are *beep* like the character in real life who looks like Favrau. You need to get to get out more and see the world buddy.

I also agree with you. There are lots of "BEEP" characters in this movie. But you know, I love it even more.

Thanks for the reminder that opinions are like a*****s.

Feel bad for the folks that take your turd and skip this movie though.

Hey, don't mince words, tell us what you really thought. Seriously, I respect your opinion. Some people will like a movie just because it's by a 'hip' director.

Agree with most of what you said but there are a couple of points that you didn't think about. First, even an oaf like him gets lucky sometimes. Second, women normally like a guy that can cook.

This happens in EVERY Movie... Every single comedy has Adam Sandler or Kevin James dating some hot Supermodel
Adam Sandler ends up with Jessica Biel in I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry.... lol
