Milla Jovovich Returns To Battle The Undead Alongside Betty Gabriel In George A. Romero’s ‘Twilight Of The Dead’

I've only watched Night/Dawn/Day, but can't remember the last one. Lost interest in zombie films after that, too much gore. I prefer B&W gore.

The George A. Romero estate is teaming up with L.A.-based financier-producer Roundtable on the “seventh and final installment” of the seminal Living Dead franchise. Horror icon Romero had written a treatment for the movie before he died in 2017 and he regarded Twilight of the Dead as the conclusion to his epic saga, which comprised six movies and various spinoffs and remakes.

Respected veteran makeup effects designer Greg Nicotero and his KNB EFX Group will create and lead the makeup effects. Nicotero began his career with Romero’s 1985 sequel Day of the Dead and was a frequent collaborator with the filmmaker. He also is known for working on the Walking Dead series.

I'll be interested in seeing this, as a Romero fan, but the last two Dead movies Romero made when he was still alive were complete shit. Land of the Dead was just ok.

reply

Land was lame as hell and the smart evolving zombie was a complete joke.

Let’s see where this one takes us.

Problem is big Hollywood would probably lead this to fail. After all when Romero’s flicks strived they were independent and unrated

>the smart evolving zombie was a complete joke.
That was also in Day of the Dead with Bub. Romero started to create intelligent zombies.

Huge difference

Bub was played beautifully by a good actor who didn’t cross the line. You saw him evolving as the movie went on by there were also limitations to his smarts

The evolving big daddy character in Land was just comical, played by a bad actor who crossed the line from the start. And those screams were mind numbing

I agree about Romero going off the boil with his later movies. Jovovich at least gives me some interest in this.
