The only people who like this shit are teenagers who think gore makes a movie good

The first film is one of the rare 0/10 films I've seen. The second was a 2/10 at best. Just cheap terrible filmmaking trying to cover up with stupid amounts of gore and torture porn how bad of movies they are. If you are over the age of 16 and think these movies are good you might have brain damage.

You're beginning to describe the problem with the Horror genre today. It's getting to the point where its almost algorithmic in how they're made. Story lines and good performances take a back seat to shock value. It's all about getting TikTokers to pay for the movie. Fuck whether or not they enjoy it. The studio has their money and that's all that matters.

I don't think anyone looks at these films and say that they like it. They just want to see gore and creative deaths. It's no different than someone wanting to see a popcorn action flick for the fighting and cool choreography.

This is an old argument made against horror. Siskel and Ebert used it to trash horror series through the 80's.

This is the first it real horror icon since Saw. The characters of Art is eccentric and creative. Sienna is a good final Girl. She's relatable and likeable.

Like you said, we have action, drama, and sci-fi movies praised for their gimmicks. In horror, we have our gimmicks. People complaining about the gore should go back to Disney products.

I tend to agree. I really liked the movie that started it all, All Hallows' Eve (2013). It was original and very creepy. Anything that came after that with Art The Clown was just gore for the sake of gore and, to be honest, it gets boring after a while.

People who make those films are also like stunted 14 year olds who love grossing out their parents by flicking snot at them.

reply

Exactly. It's like watching a film made by a juvenile teenage who thinks he's being edgy by filling his movie with cheap looking gore.

I mean there's obviously more to the series than the gore, but that's one of the franchise's strongest elements and it's allowed to have that. Not every horror franchise is going to be mellow and tame as you may want it to be. Overall, these films are meant to be fun and entertaining and it stands out compared to its brethren movies of this era.
