The only funny parts of this movie were the three cameos at the beginning. Eminem stole the film. His cameo, the best of the three, has nothing to do with the film's actual plot. A very serious Eminem coming out of the closet while saying lines like "It’s kind of like I've been playing gay peekaboo." and "I’m more shocked that people haven’t figured it out yet. I've pretty much been leaving a gay bread crumb trail" will be remembered more than anything else in this unfunny, poorly scripted, and badly acted film.
I'm not giving short shrift to Rob Lowe and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, whose cameos were the second and third memorable funny moments in the film. Rob Lowe decimates his Vanity Smurf image by removing his wig and revealing his baldness. Then there's Joseph Gordon-Levitt being incredibly adorable as he reveals that he likes puppies. As funny and memorable as their cameos are, both are still second and third to Eminem's number one film stealing cameo.

Strange, for me it was the best comedy i've seen in years. It had everything. Sex, Gore, crazyness, jokes over jokes, great "comedy"-Acting, a ridiculously funny plot, 2 main characters having a *beep* great time playing together.

That's one of the main problems with the film. Franco and Rogan had a "*beep* great time playing together." Unfortunately the film is being made for an audience, not for Rogan and Franco having fun work time. Since Rogan wrote the film, and directed it with childhood friend Evan Goldberg, there was no one to reign this bunch of friends in. I see people raving about the tiger scene, and Franco's overall performance, both of which make me cringe.
People might not care much for the Sony executives, whose email negative thoughts of the film were leaked. But, the emails were true. In a world where box office depends on international appeal, there have been many polls that show that Rogan and Franco humor does not translate and resonate with most of the non domestic box office. There's blame to go all around. Does anyone think that green lighting a film version of Rushtie's "Satanic Verses" might bring massive problems from the Muslim world? Who the hell thought that green lighting a film about having a dumb and dumber pair, being hired by the CIA, to off one of the biggest despots in the world, wouldn't bring massive trouble from North Koren, and huge financial loses to Sony?
