I'm sorry, I had to verify my account just to post this, but I believe this was the worst film I have seen in years.

Now I never saw the first Sinister, but my friend gave me the rundown of what little story it had, so I was prepared in that area. Due to heavy thunderstorms causing leaks in several screens, we had no choice but to see this so we thought what the hell, but I have to say I was falling asleep through most of it, and it didn't even provide any jump scares or suspense.

We counted more than 10 people walking out at different points, we stopped counting after 10, but 6 left at once at one point. Luckily for us the ticket was free, but god I don't even see how this movie even has the rating it has on here.

I could go on and on listing all the reasons it was a flop piece of trash, but I've wasted enough time as it is on this, and just wanted to warn others away from it...

EDIT: I have since watched the original film, and guess what? I liked it, and these aren't my type of films these days, but Sinister was good, leaps and bounds better than Sinister 2 ;D

It was as good as the first Sinister! I don't get why people complain & whinge about this sequel so much it was great! I hope for a Sinister 3!

That doesn't make much sense considering the pathetic 14% it has on Rotten Tomatoes, a 5.3 on here (which will go down more) and that it bombed.

Well it does when public/personal opinion comes in! If you're one of those gullible tossers who goes by what that stupid pathetic website goes by then you obviously haven't even seen it or even bothered to try to enjoy it.

Also people can say what they want it was great considering that 86% of you people hated it & just slam films because you expect too much! It was a really good film & you haters can *beep* off!

Also the rating won't go down as you say! The film didn't bomb not in everyone else's opinions!

Calm yourself. There's plenty of movies that have got bad reviews that I enjoy, this movie is just crappy, the more people see it the lower the rating on here will get.

And it did bomb because it only made half what the last one did.

No you calm yourself. Whiplash was crap. It Follows what really crap! And this film AIN'T crappy. Its pretty good & equal to that of the first Sinister film. Also the more people see it. The higher it will get. Only in YOUR opinion will it go down. Just cos you think it's crap you think it'll go down. Horse crap.

And no it didn't. People think differently so.

If it were as good or equal to the first Sinister film then it wouldn't have gotten much worse reviews, scores and Box Office takings.

You keep on saying this *beep* like it fact! It ain't! Also I & everyone else who have watched thought it was good! Just cos a pathetic website, nasty reviews scores, ratings & Box Office takings say it's crap doesn't mean it is! You keep saying that & it make me wonder if you even watched Sinister 2. Nobody seems to have their own opinion they just agree with what anyone says like gullible tossers it uncanny.

You aren't calm.

It is a fact it has worse reviews, scores and Box Office taking than the first movie. Of course I watched it otherwise I wouldn't be on here.

No it's an opinion. Yes it says that it was badly received but that don't mean the critics are right & correct! And how do I know you've seen it? considering your slamming it it makes me wonder.

It's their opinion the movie sucks but it's a fact that the movie was received worse, considerably worse.

Also I couldn't give a toss what their opinion is. Why films need to be rated by them idiots is beyond me. It's a film. It isn't a fact it's an opinion of theirs dragging a film which alot of people liked into the mud. Big difference.

I only see words on a screen saying you've seen it.

In you damn opinion it wasn't. It was a good film! Just because some critics have dragged it through the mud slamming it down doesn't mean it's a bad film! THAT ain't fact! Yes the film was poorly received but I disagree with the idiots who slammed it down including you. It's a matter of opinion & alot people who I know have seen this & say differently, it's all the same really with films likes this.

Some critics = 63 out of the 73 critics that reviewed the movie.

If you like it then that's fine, doesn't stop the majority from thinking pretty little of it and deservedly so. The first movie was real good and this has killed the series.

Yeah they are. I mean critics aren't right or correct. Just because a film was badly received doesn't mean it is a bad film. That's crap. Critics are critics & alot of people can be pretty negative & judgmental too.

No movie is factually good or bad, but the reception this movie has had has been poor, critics didn't like it, audiences found it worse than the original and was half as successful at the Box Office.

This movie ruined what could have been a somewhat decent horror series.

You say that like EVERYONE hated the film. That ISN'T true at all. Not the entire audience found it worse than the original. Also, reception is nothing. It's all about personal preference.

It was poorly received because critics are & some of the general audience won't give anything a chance. They're too picky & complain too much which is obviously because they don't know a good horror film when they see it. They prefer crap like It Follows which was abysmal in so many levels!

Anyway, Sinister 2 ruining the series is what YOUR saying. It didn't ruin the series. I thought it added to the series & hope for a 3rd installment in the franchise. I fail to see how people can find this sequel so bad. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it.
