1. They have an all new group of teens visit the lodge to see if the myths are true
2. This cast revisits the lodge a few years later when they are a little older
3. The parents get involved with the mysteries of the lodge
What other ideas could they come up with
3 won't happen. Parents are never in slasher films/games. As for the first two the ending implied the spirit of the Wendigo is no longer restricted to the mountain so the setting will be somewhere new. Probably a small town or camp or something similar.
share1 is really the only one they could go with, I think. Or a thematically same sequel with a new concept (which is what I'd prefer) Same basic gameplay, but a new storyline + group of characters

shareThis group manage to recover from the trauma. A new group of teens travel to the cabin, each being children of the past cast. Together, the twin children of Chris and Ashley, the son of Matt and Jessica, the son and daughter of Mike and Sam, and a sixth companion (who is later revealed to be the wedlock son of Sam and Josh), decide to visit the cabin for a vacation, and to see if the myths are true. Soon they have to deal with the wendigo, with the help of a mysterious stranger capable of fighting the wendigos head on (later revealed to be Josh, who miraculously managed to retain his humanity while being able to harnes his power as a wendigo).
shareI feel like the only way a sequel could go is a whole new storyline in a new setting with new characters. There isn't an official ending to the game so there's no way a sequel can be made with the original cast because all of them can die! They could maybe reference a lodge exploding on the mountain but that's really about it. I'd love a completely different story about new characters from well-known genre actors (like Robbie Amell and Danielle Harris) with new twists and a new setting. Forget the snow even though it worked so well in this one. I want the complete opposite setting.

Ah I'm a Danielle fanboy for life. Some of her movies are absolutely horrible but she always turned in a good performance. But regardless, that's the general idea I'm hoping for. It's a mixed bag because Sony didn't really do a lot of promotion simply because I don't think they expected it to sell as well as it has been but it came in pretty well in the sales figures, even beating out Arkham Knight over the last few weeks so time will tell I guess.

I feel kinda the opposite, her acting is extremely hit or miss. She's had her good moments (basically any Halloween movie she's in), and some awful moments (she was dire in Hatchet 2, IMO. She was also very weak in See No Evil 2) And I hear this is actually selling pretty well, so I feel like a sequel is possible

It would have to be one.
2 wouldn't work because not everyone lives in everyone's play through, there are many different endings you can get. And 3 wouldn't work because like someone else said parents practically never get involved in horror movie situations.
I have no fudging clue what to put here anymore...
The Walking Dead had the sequel go into your systems memory an continue from your last playthrough, idk if could work here tho

Yep, agreed.
Remote locations could include: Island, Desert, Bunker, Cave...
But I really think they should go with a Ship/Cruise Liner. There are plenty of mythical sea creatures, etc. you can play on and being in the water plus slow movement through water REALLY plays on fear. Not being able to run at full speed or even have the option of just running down a mountain is pretty freaky.
Deep Rising was one of my fave horror movies and you could do SOMETHING like that... obviously there are many other sea creatures but IF that movie wasn't made I could full on see it becoming a game like this and done very well.
I'm thinking Chupacabra.
shareI dunno if it's scary enough. The chupacabra mostly feeds on goats/livestock. It's not really a powerhouse creature and they're not huge or have the ability to just rip heads off, etc. I'd think it'd be quite easy to deal with.

Yah this is fairly spot on. Beach/Lake and Mountains/Woods are ALWAYS the popular slasher locations. You could even pull in a storm at a beach. Apparently the game devs are considering Until Dawn 2 because Until Dawn blew away their projected/needed sales. They said they have ideas but too early to discuss live and they already stated it can't be with the same characters/people (for obvious reasons). Can't do the same characters because some people will end the game with multiple dead (and not play again) so it'd be hard to start the 2nd game with all alive (wouldn't make sense). And trying to code EVERY scenario of who lives/who dies and the character interaction and new characters would be impossible.
It doesn't have to be exactly like the myth.
They can make the Chupacabras bigger and stronger.
The Chupacabra also feeds on human blood, can turn you by biting and can only be killed by either fire or sunlight.
One of the new teens could possibly be a relative of Josh, looking for him and leading the pack, maybe believing there was foul play with the original cast/wants to uncover the truth. He/she thinks this group was responsible for the disappearances of 3 of their family members. Maybe Mike or a couple of the old cast finds out that these kids have gone off to the lodge after warning them not to and they have to follow to stop them.
Maybe some cops got trapped somewhere in the mines and there are cop wendigos. Meh. Perhaps the cops are also involved in this / trying to find what happened to the cops who encountered Josh, and the new group has to avoid getting spotted by them or something.
They also encounter flames in the distance, etc...
And in a ridiculous twist, the teens and Mike/some of old cast after they've linked up discover......... that a bearded, gone-missing Chris is the new flamethrower guy... taking up the mantle of the man who saved is life. He feels massive guilt over his death and is now hunting his friend Josh, the new Makapichu (however it's spelled)... hahah
I think they should stick with Wendigos, just because there is a whole plethora of possibilities to draw from in the various myths about them.
