Netflix is great at marketing bad films

... like Bird Box, Bright, and Cloverfield Paradox.

All of them had a ton of advertising and social media support. All of them allegedly set new records in terms of viewership.

Bird Box is even a social media meme right now.

Netflix really knows how to manipulate bored viewers into talking about their crappy, C-grade films.

Of the 3, I liked Bright the most. But even it was "meh".

Generally I agree with you although I, personally, found Bird Box to be entertaining..

But to be honest I have found a large % of studio theatrical releases to be sadly wanting in the entertaining category..

For several years now...disappointment after disappointment for me.
And I'm wide open to all genre's.

Bird Box is a much better movie than The Cloverfield Paradox ever even had a chance of being.

The first act ia genuinely very good stuff. What follows is a decline in quality but still certainly watchable.

Overall I'd give the film a 7.

Why do you think it's called "Netflix"? It's another name for "internet movies". So just like how made-for-television films are, Netflix ones are not so much better. You do realize you're basically watching a movie off the internet.

reply

Yeah but Netflix movies have come a long way...Also Netflix is looking into opening their own line of Movie Theaters. So before long people won't be able to say Netflix movies are "internet movies"...They are doing this so they can get their movies into the academy awards.

Except when it came to "Daredevil" they couldn't save it for the life of them, so they canceled what I considered their greatest series of all time.

And "House of Cards" without Kevin Spacey was another stupid move for an original series that put them on the board.
