For those who rated it a 1

Even if you guys didn't like the concept of the film, how can anyone rate it a 1? Tom Hardy's acting was speculator least of all.

This is like rating all art-house or surrealist films (like by David Lynch or Kar Wai Wong) a 1 simply because you don't like such said concept/ niche films.

If you dislike such films, at least rate it accordingly - on it's themes, technical aspects, merits, etc. If it was truly made like it came from a prepubescent pissing all over the wall high as a pineapple floating in the sky, then yes, give it a 1. But there's a reason it's 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, rated by over 190 critics who's job is watching movies.

I'm not insulting anyone of their intelligence. People have different tastes, have varying knowledge of the disciplines of film-making and storytelling, but for goodness' sake, give some amount of reasonable objectivity when rating films

You can say this about nearly any movie.
There often seems to be quite a natural curve in ratings but with a peak near the 1's and 10's. Neither scores are often deserved for any movie but there's a very either or, like dislike culture. Which is stupid.
Of course this is also influenced heavily by exposure but I guess you could almost draw a line between the 1 and 10 peaks and judge on that how mainstream a movie is (meaning people who rate mostly 10's and 1's are more likely to negatively about a movie like this).

On the other side I found someone rating this a "6.4" which is so bloody specific it's ridiculous as well.

While I didn't rate it a 1, I find it offensive that you're whining about a score others gave frankly, merely because you disagree.

Let's be clear about something. A product, a service, a work of art, can every everything about it a 10, and still become a 1 because something else totally negates and invalidates the rest.

For example, suppose you are a single guy, and meet a woman who can cook great, who your parents love, who has a good job, but it turns out she has a p3nis and you're heterosexual. How would you rate your compatibility on a scale of 1 to 10? If that is a more important factor to you than how well she cooks, then it should be given a higher weight. So it goes with many guys, that the cooking and parent approval and job, mean ZERO in weighting against having a p3nis.

TO think you should force people to accept what is important to you, is just like trying to force someone to accept a p3nis when it's just not going to happen outside of a rape scenario. It's a 1 out of 10 only because there's no way to rate 0.

Now having written that, I have never rated anything 1 in my life. Even if boring and I got some needed sleep, I figure if the movie wasn't excessively loud so I could sleep, that it deserves at least a "2" for that, lol.
