Ugh. They're awful, just as all movies where the MALE star dresses up in a female fat suit. They're just the worst movies in existence and they cater to people with a low IQ.
I used to think the same way. Then I actually watched one of them. There really is a huge difference between a movie like I Can Do Bad All By Myself and a piece of crap like Norbit.
Looks like the only thing that will be left after the smoke clears from the nuclear blast will be cockroaches and Madea movies! Madea stopped being funny sometime ago.If you want to watch something that's funny catch the Boondock's episode 'Pause' which rakes Tyler Perry & his empire over the coals.
Sheldon:"Was the starfish wearing boxer shorts? Because you might have been watching Nickelodeon."
T.P. stands for toilet paper. This is the worst director out there. Not a shock everyone sticking up for him is white. He keeps making these films as an insult to the black community with the stereotypes he constantly portrays in his films.
Plus he already ruined something that we all love called Alex Cross. That alone cannot be forgiven.
im black, and im not looking forward to this at all, based on his last two movies. Temptation and Witness Protection were awful.
TP is capable of making some decent movies though. The Family That Preys, Why did I get married 1 and 2, Family Reunion, were the ones from him I enjoyed the most.
Temptation could've been one of his best movies and he got all theatrical at the end, having Lance Gross yell out like that was too over the top and silly. The film was good until the climax. Witness Protection wasn't that funny at all IMO, I loved seeing John Amos & Eugene Levy in there but that was about it. Perry's films aren't perfect but there are worse films out there. Perry can do some really good films though but he's made Madea way too over the top. The first two Madea films were much better, when he did Madea Goes to Jail, that was the start of the decline.
"I am the ultimate badass, you do not wanna `*beep*` wit me!"- Hudson in Aliens.
if i had to personally rank my enjoyment of the main Madea movies, itd go something like this:
Family Reunion, Big Happy Family, Mad Black Woman, Goes To Jail................................................Witness Protection
and yes, Temptation did have potential. I feel like its problems went way past the climax though.
pretty much everyone besides Lance Gross put in career-low performances, the script seemed kind of bad, the religious undertones were way too blatant, and I feel like it wouldve been better if the film itself were a little more morally ambiguous.
I absolutely LOVED Diary of a Mad Black Woman. That movie got me through the anger and hurt of my divorce and since then, I have been a huge Tyler Perry fan. I feel that some of his more recent movies are rushed and a little over the top, but I still go see them. I love the "moral to the story" that most of his movies seem to have. Family Reunion runs a very close second. Again, a great moral to the story movie. The others are funny, but they start running together. However, I will still go see the movies and laugh my butt off at them.
I know, right! I just saw an ad for this movie, and thought to myself "Tyler, give it up. You're not funny, you'll never be funny and only retards are sucker enough to pay money for your crapfests you call movies!"
