I personally don't think they are awful. Most of these movies have messages that resonate with their audiences, plus they are funny. I would also have to disagree with your sentiment that these movies are catered to people with low IQ, as a I enjoy most of them, and I have a high IQ, although some say it is my high mental acuity that allows me to understand and relate.

I agree with this poster. These are not awful movies. Someone said they were just for black people. I'm not black and I love these movies. Tyler Perry is so charming and his cast is always full of excellent actors. Oh, I also don't have a low IQ. Darn. These movies are fun, the characters are well-drawn, and they always have a happy ending. Something that is often lacking in daily life due to these challenging times. Tyler Perry, keep it up!!!
I suppose sense of humor varies and the extreme low-brow humor of Tyler Perry's movies may appeal to people even with high IQs, but you can't say that they "have messages which resonate with audiences." No movie which asserts that a man who sponsors a holiday jubilee is evil for wanting it to be non-denominational and smiles upon his public shaming and extortion has a good message and should be shown to audiences stupid enough to believe such a message

Tyler Perry got good movies yo, IMO... it's 100% subjective.
To call someone's IQ low because they like certain movies... says a lot about - you. This is a classic example of hypocrisy.
