The reasons why this film flopped
1. People didn't really understand the time travel concept and the portion where time punishes hatter to be stuck at tea time
2. Johnny Depp's character was not really friendly and funny
1. People didn't really understand the time travel concept and the portion where time punishes hatter to be stuck at tea time
2. Johnny Depp's character was not really friendly and funny
And there is no proper villain
shareI'll just add a couple more reasons:
1.) Everybody's starting to get sick and tired of the live-action reimagining reboots of fairy tales, children's stories, and Disney animated films.
2.) Nobody even wanted a sequel to begin with!! Why did Disney bother with it, anyway? More money.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These are Disney's bread and butter(apart from the Marvel films)and some
hit close or over the billion mark.
I don't think the failure of this Alice sequel has anything to do with it.
It's just that people weren't attracted to this product.
That moron, Sucha unBearable Cönthead is in it.
This movie has nothing to do with the story "Through the Looking Glass"
That stupid scene where all her "friends" urge her on to visit time. CRINGE
This is the same crew that changed the name of the Jabberwock into "Jabberwocky", the title of the poem.
And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?Did you know that Jabberwocky is actually part of "Through the Looking Glass"? So you see, this entire effort was doomed from the beginning.
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
He chortled in his joy.
Time has a vehicle that exactly does what the chronosphere is supposed to do. Another time travelling vehicle. Why nobody is discussing that?
shareThe chronosphere does more than just travel through time. It powers time.
The other vehicle can travel through time, but it isn't a source of power like the chronosphere is. It has to be manually powered.
1. Story was boring, time movies suck.
2. Johnny Depp tried to hard.
3. Boring
4. Boring
5. Boring
2. Johnny Depp tried to hard.He tried to hard what? And how exactly do you go about harding something?
And don't forget...
6. Vocabulary
And repeating the word "boring" is actually boring.
Akshully, I just looked at the kid's post...
"Johnny Depp tried to hard boring"
He wuz trying to bore something HARD. Or maybe he wuz trying to hard-bore sumpin.
Or maybe he wuz just boring too hard?
#3-#5 were all "boring." I guess that's making a point through repetition.
"Johnny Depp tried to hard" That's a complete sentence(?). Depp's trying ruined the movie.
"Time movies suck." Okay, well, that's like your opinion, man. But it doesn't tell me
much about the movie. Try harder next time, alright?
"Johnny Depp tried to hard" That's a complete sentence(?). Depp's trying ruined the movie.
Time movies suck? LOL What the hell?
Time travel movies have always been much loved and tap into the very idea of nostalgia and hope for mankind... Somewhere in Time, Time Bandits, Time after Time, 12 Monkeys, Donnie Darko, Primer, Terminator... I could go on and on... time movies do not suck.

Because the first movie was never that good and the only reason why it profited so much was because people were curious. Most of the viewers hated it and they didn't bother watching this one.
share!Spoilers! This movie was completely useless, Alice is her own enemy without knowing it it's ridiculous .. And Johnny Depp is dying for what reason concretely? He found his first hat, think his family may be alive and.. don't move et die crying.
We don't make a movie with only CGI... and I don't want to speak about Baron Cohen, I like this guy but he had no respect for his character.
Flopped? I didn't even know it flopped. I liked it. It's a fairytale. If you don't like fairytales, then you don't like them. Simple as that. Time travel concept? It wasn't complicated at all, and actually was explained in the movie. Also, that part where Father Time punished Mad Hatter and the Rabbit as far as I remmeber was a nod to their "tea-time" when Alice meats them first time in the Carroll's book.
In vino veritas
It didn't flop, it had a budget of 170 million and made 300 million...
