What is it about Shaun that attracts women? He seems to do rather better than I'd expect given his looks, but maybe I'm missing something! Did this latest romance have some aspect of "Common People" involved?
I had the same thoughts and was going to make a post about it until I saw this. It's laughable really. Firstly pulling Smell in TIE when he looks about 5 and she about 15. Then two-timing Smell for that rather attractive girl in TIE:86(?). Then the most attractive of the lot in this one, with Smell even becoming jealous at the end. Let's be honest here, he's not even average looking and seems to have women falling all over him.
I think Meadows sees Shaun as himself when he was younger and is just deliberately having him punch above his weight as if that's how he wished it had been. A This Is England: '94 series would surely see him with someone as attractive as Jessica Alba.

That's true, but first impressions count for a bit, and that one girl was making her moves on him right from the off. Shaun Hefner drew her in before it got to the stage of him proving he could treat her well and be a good friend.

Shaun is clearly not a good looking man, and whilst it's in the realm of possibility that a good looking woman would be attracted to him, science tells us that people generally gravitate to others with a similar aesthetic level. This problem is exacerbated by the fact that a similar thing happened in the previous series, between Shaun and Faye.
