What is it about Shaun that attracts women? He seems to do rather better than I'd expect given his looks, but maybe I'm missing something! Did this latest romance have some aspect of "Common People" involved?
This was one of the things that I thought felt out of place this series. The girl Shaun ends up with was too attractive for these series (all the attractive female characters are so in a believable 'normal' way) she was too good looking. Also let's be honest would she be so attracted to Shaun that she makes a move straight after meeting him, he is a bit out of her league. It was all a bit silly.
Its not a shallow world view, It was an observation of the series and the characters that we have met throughout.
I am not saying for a minute that something like this doesn't happen in real life, more that it just felt out of place here. And was there any evidence that they had been at college for a few months? I don't remember any.
Don't take my post as an attack on you personally, it was more of a general addressing of many comments like it. Replying to your post just gave it context.
As for college, each episode is a different season. Shaun got accepted on the course in autumn due to someone dropping out. It was winter in the last episode..THEN there was another two month gap...
I'm not saying it was the "reason" Just that it wasn't real. Obviously in real life he could never pull a girl like that. It is highly unlikely, anyway. My point was it is just a TV show...It wasn't dumb just unrealistic.
It may be fictional, but it deals with real life drama. Things like that and the comedy aspects in this series take me out of the real life environment and transport me to some surreal parallel universe where people like Shaun Hefner can get any women they want. His mum probably fancies him.
I'm sorry to hear that. Fortunately, it doesn't take me out of it at all. I enjoy all of the humour. And whereas I did think to myself "Ha! As if he could ever pull a girl like that!" It didn't bother me for more than a couple of seconds lol.
The thing with Shaun was humorous itself. As soon as they first glanced at each other in the classroom I was laughing at where it was going to go.
Come to think of it, even that very attractive girl Gemma who the cartoon bully wanted to get with in 86 seemed to like him.
Shaun is the guy all the girls go crazy for, and the guy all the guys wished they could be. LOL. I think he'd have evoked that jealous rage out of Combo again had they reunited, and got beaten to death.
I don't think Gemma seemed to like him at all. All she said was she'd rather go out with him than the bully. So, really it is only 2 attractive girls that he has gotten with over the years. Both too hot for him, I agree. But it doesn't bother me. I still love the show all the same.
Yes, it is utterly ridiculous. It's like Shane Meadows sees himself as Shaun and creates this little fantasy world out the end of his pen for HIMSELF. The mistake of casting Turgoose has haunted this entire series (although it was moderately successful in the original movie). He isn't good-looking and can't act.
''So do attractive girls not exist in real life then? Have you never seen a good looking woman with a less good looking man?''
Unless the man is rich or famous, that's very rare, yeah. Sorry to say. It just didn't seem true to the rest of the series. It was one of the low points of the series finale.

Loool not true at all, you need to get out more.
My ugly pale mate hooks up with tons of hot girls, I mean tons. He is neither rich or famous.
He is very common sounding and has a strange dirty look to him but had a rich hottie chasing after him.
The girl Shaun pulled wasn't even anything special, she just looked like a normal girl.
She looked nice compared to the other girls but they had all been made down to look ugly.
Tons of ugly people date good-looking girls from where I grew up, and no they didn't have tons of money or fame.

It was like she had to do all the work as well. She took enough of an interest in him to speak to him first and ask to hang out with him. Bet she was the one that asked him out.
They've made Shaun Hefner irresistible to women and it has to be something to do with either Shane Meadows wanting to put himself in Shaun's shoes or him positively discriminating gingers.

Yeah, this too. It was a very unrealistic scenario and one of the worst aspects of the finale. I don't like when Tv forces *beep* like this on our faces, its distracting

Shaun is a Tenth degree Ginger Ninja who was taught by his father a master of )rangitsu ..he learned this whilst training in australia,,,,Shaun has mystical powers over the universe and women... of my mind '' I don't know what's in there, but it's weird and it's pissed off''
