Princess Leia was actually creepy

Cgi was terrible. I felt weird seeing a dead person artificially brought back to life.

I wish they hadn't.

reply

No cgi, not Rogue One

reply

they didn't bring her back with CGI. they use old footage form TFA.

reply

Why’d her face look artificial then?

reply

No CGI, I believe everything the studio tells me, duh!

reply

She looked like that in real-life in her last few years. Makes me wonder why we should respect and mourn a junkie, to be honest.

reply

Whatever they did, it was weird, it was creepy.

reply

. . . yep.

reply

Every scene with her seemed stiff.

Rebel: General Leia, should we scramble the fighters?
Leia: Someone has to save our skins.
Rebel: We think Palpatine is behind this. What do you think?
Leia: I know. Somehow, I've always known.
Rebel: Your son sure is evil. Your thoughts?
Leia: I wonder if he cares about anything ... or anybody.
Rebel: What are your orders, General?
Leia: May the Force be with you.
Rebel: But what should we do?
Leia: May the Force be with you.

reply

Reading those all with Leia's voice in my mind was awesome.

reply

I dont know about creepy but it didnt work for me both knowing her scenes were from TFA and she was dead. It rather seemed obvious her scenes were contrived and without much consequence as fan service.

reply

It would have been better if they had left the old farts out altogether and started with a clean(er) slate.

reply

Definite uncanny valley vibes going on
