The Rise of Skywalker will win an Oscar for best picture

It being the last installment of a movie saga that pretty much changed the cinema forever, I believe that The Rise shall be given the Academy Award in the most prestigious category as a form of recognition to the entire franchise. I believe The Return of a King was awarded in the same vain, as a token for the entire LOTR movie series. I believe Star Wars movies shall be given the same kind of nod. I guess we'll find out whether that scenario has any validity on January 13th, when the nominees get announced.

Who gives a shit about the Oscars anymore beside idiots and industry sycophants, the ceremony & awards have been an open joke for a couple of decades now.

reply

So, has Friday the 13th become April the 1st?

reply

These Hollyweird award shows are utterly corrupt with industry politics and useless as a true measure of anything. it would hardly shock me and I could care less.

reply

They are sanctioned "Hate Whitey" events now.

reply

"Whitey" runs these events.

reply

No they do not.

reply

"Whitey" certainly does so I guess it must be "whitey" on "whitey" hate.

reply

Quotes do not change reality.

reply

I think by 'Whitey', he means the people that wear beanies to church, who don't consider themselves 'white' unless it's to their advantage.

reply

The "Nuh uh!" argument doesn't change reality either.

reply

Guilt.

reply

COULDN'T care less, you mean. What you wrote is that you still care.

reply

Yeah awards shows are corrupt and rigged the only way to know if a movie is good/popular is the amount it makes at the box office which reflects the amount of people going to see it, hard numbers win over hollywood elite opinions

reply

So you believe in conspiracy theories related to the awards shows, but believe reported box office pure as the wind driven snow?

. . . little cognitive dissonance going on there, Cupcake.

No wonder you scurry around the threads like a little rat with your details scrubbed.

reply

lol

reply

Yep, just like Resident Evil: The Final Chapter did.

reply

I guarantee it won't even be nominated for best picture.

reply

It’ll probably do very well at the Razzies

reply

I think we all deep down know damn well the Star Wars franchise is long from over. Maybe this saga has ended, but Star Wars will definitely see more sequels, prequels, and side films within the next few years.

reply

Lol ok time will tell

Here's an article on cnn.com. It affirms my hunch! Gosh, I feel so smart now!
