I watched an hour of TFA in the theater, and then I walked out. I still haven't seen the rest aside from youtube rants. I have never seen TLJ. Again I have seen youtube rants about how bad it was. I will not see TRoS. My Star Wars universe ends when bantam spectra stopped releasing Star Wars books. So, that's around 1999(right before the prequels came out). I saw all of the prequels, and while they had some great ideas, the plot, acting, direction and plain old goofiness killed my love of Star Wars for a LONG time. Like I stated earlier my Star Wars time line ends when Bantam Spectra ended its run of Star Wars novels.
shareFunny thing is RETURN OF THE JEDI was the stupidest silliest star wars ever. 😂😂😂
-Ewoks
- Our Heros all getting caught up in simple rope snare
-Han trying to blow fire out with his breath to prevent getting cooked by -the ewoks doing "cute" little silly stuff
- ewoks fighting Storm troopers with sticks and rocks
This is not even the whole list. Worst Star Wars film ever. Before anyone says it the damn space scenes don't save it. It was a disappointing ending to the ot.....just bad...
I actually really like ROTJ, its well paced , great action , epic finale, and i dont mind the ewoks, not a fan of the special edition changes, prefer the cinematic cuts of the OT
shareOh, don't get me wrong ROTJ stunk too, but the rest of the crap that came after was even worse. Carrie Poppins, sand being coarse, Jar Jar, yelling I hate you while being burned alive, pedophile love, the infamous Darth Vader\Ric Flair Nooooooooo! The third death star, super Rey, Emo Kylo, Luke running away, BB8, I can go on, but there's no need to.
shareOkay the ewoks were bad yes; I think everyone acknowledges that but you make 4 complaints about ROTJ and all of them were about the Ewoks. The Ewoks were not the sum of the film. How would you feel about ROTJ if they replaced the ewoks with Wookies (which I think I have heard was the original plan)? Would your assessment of the film improve? If so try judging the films as a whole before calling it the worse.
Personally the things I don't like about ROTJ are:
- Jabba's palace scenes drag and distract from the rest of the more interesting empire/rebel conflict
- 2nd Death Star
- Leia being Luke's sister (not only a bad idea but horribly execution in the reveal
- Han being relegated to a much more meaningless role almost having no arch (perhaps it would have been better if he died like Harrison Ford wanted)
- Of course everything related to the Ewoks
But some other stuff makes up for it:
- The Emperor was awesome
- Most scenes with Luke and Vader are great; vader's redemption arch is one of the best things in cinema
- Leia is still awesome other than the sister reveal
- Lando and the space battle outside the death star is one of the best space battles (IMO)
- Balancing the 3 scene climax was shot and paced perfectly
So I would rate this film somewhere around a 7/10
Saw last jedi in a theater but have no interest in seeing rise of Skywalker.the original characters are gone and this new generation hasn't grown on me.
shareNo and Hell No!
shareSaw Last Jedi.
Last Star Wars movie I will ever see.
Didn't see Solo, Mandalorian, won't see this or any other.
A wise choice.
shareBoo hoo
shareThis new one will be the first SW movie I don't see. I liked TFA sorta but none of the rest of the Dis movies. I hated TLJ and Solo. That is enough of that for me. Don't care about the new characters anymore and Solo convinced me that they don't know wtf they are doing.
However ... The mandalorian is pretty good. Not great but good. It has hope. I'll watch the rest of it and maybe another season if it doesn't get as bad as everything else Disney is doing now.
To answer OP's question: Yes and No.
