If this movie also flops is star wars officially dead then?
Disney and a female CEO managed to kill the most valuable IP in 5 years time.

shareIt's got nothing to do with a 'female CEO'.
Quit that, there's plenty of good women out there who make Star Wars good - check out Marcia Lucas for example.
I'll grant you that Disney and Kathleen Kennedy seem to be making silly decisions but don't miscategorise in your tantrums.
No. Kennedy would lose her job, but Disney wouldn't abandon the franchise.
shareNo, people will get fired
Making a billion is still bad as you lost half of your audience

Star Wars is 1-6 there should be no reason to tell these stories anymore. At least the old characters are killed off so the new ones can be allowed to shine.
shareLucas had originally planned 12 film's, see Mark hamills interview in 1983, if he hadn't retired to raise his kids , the prequels would of been made very early 90s , sequels 2000s
shareIn my book, it is already dead. I won't go see any more of them.
Disney will continue to make some money off of the franchise for probably 5 to 10 years by spending less and getting the "I love any shit that says Star Wars on it" crowd's mulah.
To me it will be. OT and EU excluded - they can never die. And no, Disney doesn’t get to tell me that EU isn’t canon.
But if 9 is shit, then I’m done with Disney/Kennedy Wars, unless Kennedy and the story team are sacked and future films only have A-list directors.
