In defense of Rose rescuing Finn

A lot of people pointed out how Rose's intervention at the end ruined the climax of Finn taking one for the team and heading for that cannon. Now, how do we know he would even succeed? Just because Rand Quaid did it in ID4? Maybe he would simply burn inside his clunky speeder and not affect the cannon at all. It was a stupid plan all along. Also, the film goes out of its way to eschew this gung-ho mentality of martyrdom and hero flyboys, so it kind of fits the narrative.

I think it could be interesting to explore how Finn ultimately feels about Rose after she does that. Does he feel relieved that he's alive, or does he resent her for stepping on his moment. I don't know but it might be a cool character thing to explore.

she kissed finn with out wanting a kiss #metoo Also didn't she say we must not fight hate with hate or something to that degree. Yet she fought hate with hate when she was at that casino planet

for sure..... riding on top of those animals going 100 mph through the city should have killed them as well

This isn't a proper defense. It's irrelevant whether or not Finn would have succeeded, it's fiction thus completely up to the writers. And boy did they fail.

Whatever, it all cumulated into one of the most cringe worthy and morally questionable "I love you" scenes ever. Declaring "We're going to win this war not by fighting what we hate, but saving what we love! and surprise-kissing Finn while in the background the enemy blows up the last defense because of Rose's selfish action (in contrast to her sister and Holdo) is beyond silly.

^^^ This. In droves. Holdo and Rose's own sister died for the cause. Finn was about to do the same, but was blocked.

I heard on some video somewhere on YT that Finn could've bailed out whilst the craft proceeded to ram the cannon, but I doubt that would've worked neither.

I hated Rose's face..... so annoying

And in the last part , how the hell did they find a first order uniform that small?

No BB-9E was necessary , everyone could see she did not belong there lol

I feel mixed about it. I certainly understand her reasoning, and I like Finn and am glad he's alive. But I also feel like, if he's willing to sacrifice himself for the cause, in what looked to me to be a pretty sure move, and at the moment seemed like the last resort, who is she to decide otherwise for him?

Also, if he had died, it would've made Rey and Poe meeting a bit extra touching.
