Something about Camille and Lena that bothers me

I hate being so nitpicky, because the Camille/Lena premises is so clever, but in the first episode, I thought Camille was supposed to be much younger—maybe 12. Then we find out she’s 15. At 15, Camille would have already gone through puberty and she wouldn’t look so vastly different from how she would look at 19. Her face might change a little, but she certainly won’t grow several inches. There are variations and exceptions, but for the most part, at 15, girls will be about as tall and developed as they’re ever going to be. That’s been bugging me ever since I realized it because the Camille and Lena storyline is so prominent and was so promising. They could have gotten this right if they had just played with the timing a little—Camille 12 or 13, accident 5 or 6 years ago, Lena around 18. 13 and 18 year-old identical twins might look very different from one another. 15 and 19 year-old identical twins, probably not so much.

I was thinking 13, but yeah, she definitely looks younger than 15.

which is funny because she was actually 17 and will be 19 in season 2 and look 14.

On the bright side, better that than they choose two actresses so alike we spend all our time trying to figure out which one is which. That's the other common mistake.

I grew about 8 cm between 15 and 19. I also acquired my adult face at 16 - if I compare my photos at 15 and 16, there's a striking difference. At 15 I still looked much more child-like.

I buy that part completely. What bothers me is the girls having exactly the same hairstyle prior to the crash. Teens are obsessed with individuality, and you'd think twins would go out of their way to colour, cut or style their hair differently.

Maybe it is a Ginger thing but Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones) became a female gaint over the first four years of the show.

I think the difference between the sister was a good match to show that a significant amount of time had passed and that there is a huge gap in the development of the two twin sisters. One is more a school girl, the other one almost a full grown woman.

PS: I would do them both.

Sophie Turner was 13 when she started on GOT, which is enough time to gain a few inches. The difference isn't that "Stark" 😁😏

Girls don't stop growing when they get their periods. Their growth just slows down a lot, but you do get a burst or growth spurt around 15 or 17 - depends on the person, but unlike boys who can literally gain 6 inches in the same year and can keep growing until 21, girl's growth peaks between 12 and 15 (sometimes 17). I grew almost 2 inches from 17 to 19. I stopped (sort of growing at 14), then it picked up at. Besides the height though, I looked exactly the same from 14 to 21... faces don't change much at all for girls.

The curious fact is that Yara Pilartz who plays Camille, was already 17 years old when the series began (2012)...

I was confused as to whether they were actually twins or not. I assumed that they were twins, and the difference between them after Camille returned seemed strange to me. Then I figured they were just sisters, because they do bear a striking resemblance as sisters, but not as twins. Then I just sort of ignored it and got into the show.
