What the F happened to Eli Roth?

Cabin Fever and Hostel are classics in the horror genre IMO. then just a huge decline starting with Hostel 2. I have officially lost faith

This Jewish boy is just a gore freak, throws in excessive violence and gore just for the sake of it and to up the ante for the shock value. If he wan't into movies dude would probably be a serial killer. :|

I really don't understand how anyone liked Cabin Fever. Mediocre indie virus movie. Hostel wasn't very great either.

Green Inferno was much better. A movie made for lovers of the old cannibal classics.

You either love his sense of humor or you don't. Gore contrasted with absurd humor like Winston the Party Man or kid yelling pancakes and doing a sweet ninja move..... You get it or you don't. Something amazingly witty is just lame from the wrong lens....take something like Aquateen Hunger Force for example.

So says The Goats!

Having a new girlfriend you think he would get inspired, and create some of his best work.Like (argento did with suspiria).Unfortunately the exact opposite happened,he got distracted by the bomb ass pussy! And focused more on pleasing his woman to put her in his projects and less on pleasing the actual audience/fans!

Hostel is not a classic. It's awful.

Hostel is not a classic.

Yes it is. Hostel is awesome!

He's only directed three movies in the 10 years since Hostel:

Hostel II, Knock Knock, and the Green Inferno.

Man, I hated Roth's movies right from the start... Cabin Fever pissed me off and Hostel was just bait-n-switch (it's nowhere near as gory/transgressive as its reputation suggests). The guy is good at marketing but I think his writing sucks.
That said, I did kind of enjoy Green Inferno... though the earlier bits up till the plane crash were really annoying. After that it's a predictable, somewhat sanitized jungle horror/cannibal movie. Kinda dumb, kinda fun.

Sometimes I find it funny, sometimes I get pissed. People commenting horror films are a bunch of really annoying sour nerds. Just read most of the answers to this post. Why do you take it so serious? Most of these movies are meant to make you laugh at some point...

"Critics" don't know a *beep* about making a glass, but they know a thousand ways to break it.
