CG is destroying Bond ... or thats what the crybabies haven destroyed already

Watching the new Bond trailer it was obvious at most scenes that they stunts werent real. It was just CG. And knowing that, the disbelief begins and an action movie becomes instantly worthless.

Its fine using CG in according movie genres. But a Bond movie lives from the fact, that all you see was done for real (yep, beside the space scenes in YOLT and Moonraker :) ). The last scene with the "flying" car in front of Bond was ... soulless. All I saw was a bunch of nerds sitting in front of their computers and using Maya (or something similiar). That is as as Bond unlike as possible. Remember all thos famous stunts Bond movies included. The bridge car stunt in MWTGG. Or the plane stunt in Golden Eye. Or the incredible opening of Moonraker. Something which isnt even possible today anymore.

And now ... a few clicks and your soulless Bond movie is done. As if bullying Bond within a Bond movie isnt enough. They also have to destroy the stunts.

In the Living Daylights, they literally had two planes up in the air, one for filming and one for the stunt, two stuntmen hanging off a net with concealed parachutes, and emergency skydivers on board in case a stuntman fell from the netting and was unable to pull his chute. That's all real stunt work that gets no credit. The Craig fanboys just love their CGI, just like they love their fake plastic excuse of a James Bond actor.

In fact I hate the artificial looking/feeling CGI crap, like the Mission Impossible movies. Sad to see if the Bond movies are going that way.

Lol did you pick a wrong example...

reply

Well they did ruin the Cruse high altitude jumps with a cheap looking CGI storm

Why? I haven't bothered to watch Mission Impossibles in theater after the first one, but I've seen enough them on television, so I know what I'm talking about. Its a mystery to me why some people think Bond movies should take influences from MI's and become more like them. I guess I never fully understand movie taste of American movie goers...

Of that I have no doubt. Stay safe, stick with your guardians.

Yeh Bond always prided itself on real stunts that weren't/couldn't be done if other action movies of the time (except maybe IndianaJones and then when Lethal Weapon and Die Hard came around and then T2/True Lies before it became common place in the M:Is, Bourne's etc - in fact the appeal of those were the big Bond like stunts/action scenes that were only previously done in 007 films)

The CGI stunts crept into Bond in a subtle way in TWINE and then embarrassingly took centre stage in DAD .. then they dialled it down for CR but its still there ..

Now the use of CGI is in full bloom. Bond really retired and is dead to the world now. I would not be surprised if Connery died in November so everything Bond can be buried and forgotten.
