Sooooo do we all just have to come to terms with the fact that Will Smith just plays himself in everything now?

"hey we need a smooth looking guy to be a cowboy, lets get Will Smith"
"hey we need a smooth looking guy to hunt aliens, lets get Will Smith"
"hey we need a decent actor to show some range, lets get somebody else"

Not saying I dont kind of like him and most of the films he is in but when was the last time he did something with some edge?

He's just a really boring actor that can't carry a film.

It's a problem, he seems to be playing himself (the same character) for the past 5 years? It ain't working anymore.

Seven Pounds. Before that there was The Pursuit of Happiness. Before that there was Ali. Before that there was Enemy of the State.

And soon to come is Concussion.

The guy has proven he has plenty of range. The audience (me included) just wants him to be a smooth guy doing cool stuff

Watch POH, Ali, the new Concussion (AMAZING ROLE, SHOWING GREAT RANGE).
If you see Will Smith acting Will Smith thats only because
the directors WANT him to.
