Why is Tom Cruise's face fat?

I know we are all getting older....but doesn't his face look rather bloated?

I was kind of shocked...

reply

I noticed his looks began to change on Knight and Day (2010).

Still bloated faced Tom Cruise is better looking than 99.9% of the rest of us.

reply

Well that is true...it's just that seeing him so obviously aging like this feels like I'm losing part of my OWN youth!! (Which could, of course, NOT be true!!!!)

reply

He went to the Alec Baldwin's school of getting old. Face department.

reply

Yeah... some people get bloated faces from 50s onwards...

They're still both quite handsom...

reply

I think Richard Gere is the best looking old actor alive. He's also quite experienced of getting old; I remember he's already old 20 years ago.

reply

not pierce brosnan?

reply

Nope. Richard Gere.

reply

He looks like a man-baby.

reply

Look at Ralph Macchio or Sean Astin.

reply

Yes, I think it looks bloated in this film. His face seems to have settled a bit in subsequent years, though. It looks like he’s had some work done but, thankfully, nothing so radical as to disfiguring.

reply

Not sure what you're talking about. His face doesn't look "fat" at all. He's a far better looking 52-53 year old (at the time of this movie) than I hope to be.

Tommy C finally hit the wall. The bloated face thing happens sometimes as men settle into their "old age look". He'll probably end up looking like old Robert Redford. That bloated tissue will shrink and shrivel and give you that rugged handsome appearance with the deep craggy lines.

reply

It happens to everybody as we age. The elasticity of the skin is reduced, the fat under the skin is reduced too and even some bone is lost. You end up looking like you are wearing a badly fitted mask.

Just wait and see it for yourself.
