And I thought Lloyd Dobbler was a dream guy. I found the character of Tony in this film to be so sweet and adorable that I was watching this film thinking the Eilis character is the luckiest girl ever. And then I thought she was a fool for even considering that other guy.

I agree, he was very charming and charismatic. I think Eilis really did want to be with him, as far as Jim, I think she just got caught up in the moment, and even if her former boss had not called her out she still would have come to her senses and returned to Tony.

I would find the next flight to Ireland (forget a slow ship passage), and find 'that girl'... with address in hand, it wouldn't take long. There would be some 'splainin' to do, fer sure. And maybe somebody gets punched... but that's me.
I guess Tony was from a 'calm' Italian family.
