Poor taste from Monroe, lol

reply

Yeah, I don't think she likes horror much.

reply

Guessing Perkins is gonna make a horror film where people transform at some point?

reply

These are interesting - especially the earlier version of Cat People. But there are other movies not listed that are much better. Repulsion, Cure, Audition, and especially the one that got me the most - The Vanishing (Spoorloos) the Dutch one in 1988. These movies are horrific psychologically than say slasher or giallos like Halloween or Meat Train or Carrie. And I think Longlegs was supposed to be just that - psychologically thrilling - and just wasn’t. And it wasn’t smart which was frustrating to watch. It did have a bit of a Carrie vibe with the mother. Piper Laurie is similar to Witt.

reply

Apparently Monroe is not into horror movies.

reply

Except The Vanishing (Spoorloos) 1988 is one of the best psychological thrillers I’ve ever seen.

And Longlegs is really lightweight.

reply

I was talking about Monroe's list. I see that The Vanishing is on my watchlist, but whatever enters there, never gets out.

reply

You’re right. I just saw a list.

If you do see The Vanishing - don’t want the American one. Watch the Dutch one.
