Other masterpieces with <7 score?

I usually rely on IMDB scores to choose what movies to watch. Fortunately I watched "Enemy" and was blown away how good this movie is.

I am surprised this one has a 6.8 score currently, so I wonder what other awesome movies I am missing or overlooking because of a low score.

Anybody can point me other movies that are so good like this and have an score below 7?

Not all of these are necessarily "masterpieces", but I think they deserve a vastly higher rating:

Vanilla Sky (2001) [current rating 6.9]
Triangle (2009) [6.9]
Nurse Betty (2000) [6.3]
Magic in the Moonlight (2014) [6.6]
Enemy (2013) [6.9]
House of Wax (2005) [5.3]
Scream 4 (2011) [6.2]

The Machinist and The Last Of The Mohicans were movies I found to be masterpieces but they only have scores of 7

Some movies that I can think of right now where I seriously disagree with IMDb score (7 or below) which I think we're very good (8 or more);

- Basic Instinct - 8/10
- The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus - 8/10
- Australia - 9/10
- Thor - 8/10
- Prometheus - 9/10
- Batman v Superman 8/10
- Godzilla Final Wars - 8/10 (OK. This is more of a guilty pleasure.)

BB ;-)

it is just in my opinion - imo - 🌈

Every film under 7 that I rated 9 or 10. So I have rated 3900 films on IMDB. I am not real generous with 9's and 10's. I am with 8 and 7. But I was really surprised at how many films rated under 7 that I rated 9 or 10. I am sure that there are films that I rated 9 or 10 here that many will take issue with. After all, they are all rated below 7 by IMDB, but I just thought this would be fun to do after seeing this thread. These are not Masterpieces for the most part. Though I would call them some of the better films that I have seen in their respective genres. Few "Masterpieces" are rated below 7. If I called one film on this list a Masterpiece it would be Go Tell the Spartans. It was lost when it was released at the end of the Vietnam war, but in many ways I like it as much as Full Metal Jacket or Platoon. (I always felt Apocalypse Now is overrated. though a very good film)

Hard to tell, mostly because everyone has his own tastes: in a site like imdb, in order to achieve a high score, a movie must be both a masterpiece and mainstream (or historically acclaimed). My tought is that Enemy suffers from a mainstream distribution, but it has some elements that doesn't appeal a mainstream audience.
Anyway, my suggestion is Izo , by Takashi Miike.

Edit: rethinnking about that, for high rating, other option is that the movie is extremely mainstream: for me that means a useless movie, but strenght is in numbers :D
